How do you decide who doesn't get to win more at home?

Rotating sh!t end of the stick?

I am sorry. I am not being clear.

I am not suggesting we need better SSs. What I meant was that you can't prove the fielding difference is all via coaching choices we make in HBD. That's probably some of it. But none of know RL rankings of players so we can only make educated guesses that one guy is just like the RL Jeter or Vizquel. For that reason, as Mike says, adjusting outcomes via the engine is a can of worms I'd rather not see opened.

You can adjust outcomes by altering player ratings at generation.

Not saying they should do this either but its at least possible the ratings arenLt quite right. Until you can show me the real life ratings of players you can't definitively say its "all coaching decisions"

I actually agree that anu forced outcomes is a bad thing

and it is equally possible that the ratings (creation and development) are quite appropriate to generate macro HBD fielding statistics consistent with macro MLB fielding stastics

No, but I get enjoyment if I earn HFA throughout the playoffs and it ACTUALLY turns out to be an advantage, and not just because I've had five seasons to customize my team to it's ballpark.

The crux of my argument is that I really don't care about HFA in the regular season, it washes out in the end since you play the same amount of home games as away. But in the playoffs is where it really matters.
You do understand how seeding works in the playoffs, right?

You already have an advantage in the playoffs if you're the higher seed (and therefore also have more games in your home park, which you hopefully have built your team around). And that advantage is the fact that you're playing a lesser team.

So why isn't that enough for you?

So, you've already got: (a) playing a lower seed, i.e. a lesser team in the playoffs; (b) having a more rested team if you're the #1 or #2 seed; and (c) the inherent HFA you have from playing more games on the field you should have built your team around.

And that's not enough for you?

I'd like three guaranteed win in each playoff series.

I'll take care of number 4 myself.
