Actually, I probably jinxed myself.  The 70M team lost and is now in a 2nd place tie; 71, 70 and 70 wins!

For the Dual Franchise $110M 24 that I'm in, the best record right now is 75-56 .573, shared by the three division leaders in the AL. Only one team is under .400. Pretty cool. Wouldn't have expected that much parity in a theme of that kind.

Four teams with a record of 67-74. Ugh. Still consistently bad.

I'm going to miss the cage because in one league:

I've unluckiest team I've ever had (17-35 in 1-run games lplaying .60 points below exp.

And in another my opponent having the luckiest team I've ever seen (.475 exp playing at .560 wpct).

Always so close...thought this was the year.

Too soon to make predictions like that isn't it? The playoffs mix up the rankings a lot.

Lasy quarter of the season has dropped me from 25th to approx. 40th. Gonna take a few good playoff results to make it

I hope you're right brianjw; but I figure I need to get 4 teams into the playoffs to move from the bubble to the cage.  I had 4 as of a week ago, but am down to 2 now.  Two playoffs teams is not going to cut it.

I see. I guess you'd need, maybe, 4-5 playoff series wins to make it in from a .530ish winning percentage. And that's perfectly do-able with 4 playoff teams, but requires lots of luck with just 2.

Last year 5 out of the 24 who made it had 515 wins (.530) or fewer during the regular season, with dougpalm being the lowest at 505, a .519 clip, (and he made it with only 3 playoff teams, and comfortably at that). None of those 5 had less than 3 playoff teams. There were also 5 people who had more than 515 wins who did not make it. 4 out of those 5 had 3 or more playoff teams. In particular, NappyRootz ran into some bad playoff luck. He had 4 playoff teams and over 515 wins, but missed out on round 2 by a few places.

Wow, bad time for a couple of 1-5 sessions.  4 potential playoffs teams is down to 3 and there's a chance for only 2.

3 postseason teams, 1 by the skin of our teeth.  The other 3 will finish .500 or below, so it's probably not enough to get us in the cage, but at least there's a glimmer of hope.

Sim has been very unkind to me for the last two weeks. I've gone from 5 play-offs to possibly three. I've gone from 10th place to 27th+. I smell a sim techie involvement or a pay-off!

I know how you feel lazerhawks. Although, you collapse is more dramatic. I never quite made it in the top 24 after a midseason spiral. But my teams rebounded and I got back up to 30th but with only two playoff teams. I sit 6 points out of 24th and should be closer. One of my best teams clinched the division with 9 games to go and promptly lost 8 in a row to end the season. Not a good sign for a deep run in the playoffs with that team.
