The read on rangescott should be he picked Connie Hawkins first then John Lucas second..the Lucas pick is negated because he only had one pick...right?

I just looked at the draft order and it mane no sense why would I draft last two rounds in a row. That's ridiculous. I already took the penalty of having the first pick by going last in round two

The player pool is so limited that you have an incredible advantage.  I would love to trade draft positions and know that I have Kareem there to anchor my team.  Instead I get Paul Westphal and The Pocket Rocket....what would you rather have KAJ and Hawkins, or my two?

Rangerscott..the abba order is meant to balance the draft order..otherwise the first few owners in the draft would run away with it. The ODL & DH52 both use this format..it seem unfair when you're first pick but it works well. Playing in a abbreviated era, with single instance players, plays differently than open leagues. As the draft moves on the talent level takes a serious hit. You're in a strong position right now...but it's a long draft with plenty of room to screw it up. GL

Yes rangerscott, the draft order is correct.  This league has always been an abbababab format, which means we go 1-24, then 24-1 twice then 1-24 and 24-1 the rest of the draft.  I hated it at first too, but it does seem to even out the advantage of having early picks in these decade drafts.

We will assume you want Connie Hawkins as your primary pick.

No, this is NOT true.  Not the way I run drafts at least.  Many other folks who run drafts have this rule, but I do NOT.  It is my feeling that skips are the fault of the owner who was skipped, and there is no need to penalize 23 other guys for that.  Everyone knows when they are supposed tp pick and can send proxy lists, so an owner has no one to blame but themselves for being skipped.  In THIS case in particular, carbonjones made an illegal pick out of the date range of available players, so it is treated like a skipped pick.  He will have to make up that pick as soon as he gets a chance, but the draft can go on in OFF THE CLOCK mode, if those owners would rather pick at night than the following morning.  It is up to them.  So skypilot, you are up and may pick tonight if you want.
