jonstephens25 has $10+ million Rogers Hornsby and some great hitting OFs but the 49 Senators don't offer much help in Pitching. As much as possible, as BeAllEndAll's proxy, we want to give him as little pitching as possible. Thus he gets the 49 White Sox. That gives him one usable SP, a decent 2b in case he can't roster Hornsby one of my all time favorites in Luke Appling (I was 13 and watched him live on tv hit a that HR at the cracker jacks old timers game when he was 75 years old!). The rest, he'll have to cobble together from this 63 Win team.

AL West
6 Lennyistall ..... 39 Yankees, 79 Athletics

I have been looking at the 39 Yankees especially and forsee him taking 7 including

1939 Red Ruffing Salary: $7.67M with 251 IP and

1939 Lefty Gomez Salary: $5.65M with 213 IP

And even without OF

1939 Joe Dimaggio Salary: $10.54M

There are 6 more Offensive starters between $4.78 and 7.11 Millions !!!! ... Well done Lennyistall what a Team with usable Players !!!

So I stared at the 79 Athletics in a tab next to the Yankees and compared the two and became dizzy with not having a clue as to your ruination as a State Farm Agent (Neighbor) ....

The prodigious 79 Athletics have one Pitcher starting or not above 200 IP with 219

1979 Rick Langford Salary: $4.51M

Now I think of Cheapies (Pause in dull amazement)
There are 13 below $2M !!!! .... Including at 2nd and SS and 2 OF

I happened upon the wondrous

1979 New York Mets League: NL Record: 63 - 99

With one SP above 200

1979 Craig Swan New York Mets Salary: $6.08M

Included there again are a plethora of Ninnies Totaling 11 below $2Millions

Rejoice therefore Lennyistall with your new 1979 New York Mets teammates

Somehow missed that the 49 Reds went.

BeAllEndAll, take the ‘69 Red Sox.

No substantial pitching help, terrible infield except 2B which I doubt is particularly useful for you anyways. Best of luck.

Beernoser has the 79 Dodgers. A lot of versatile talent there, but only one eligible SS, and he stinks.

He has the 39 Phillies. Not a lot going for that team, including only one eligible SS, who stinks.

So let’s stick with this theme and give him the 1979 Chicago White Sox. They only have one eligible SS, and… guess what? He stinks!

The rest of the team is pretty awful, too, outside one great OF season from Chet Lemon. Enjoy!

PReeves has the 49 Dodgers, so much a favorite of mine, I considered them with the first pick. not many holes. the only good thing about the 39 Browns is that they have some cheap options. At this point so many bad teams are off the table, you have to give up something good. So, welcome the 49 Boston Braves who have one guy under 1 million and a workhorse Warren Spahn who you are never sure will, ahem, make this team at nearly 8 million...

Reminder to all

We have never heard back from BeAllEndAll. I hope he is ok, it has been over a week since he confirmed ready to start the draft.

Ribbentrop had offered to pay for and manage a 2nd team, but BeAll & Ribbentrop were in the same division. If anyone from another division is feeling unsatisfied with their team and would like to manage the BeAll team instead, please reach out.

If I don't hear from anyone in a couple of days, I will explore other solutions (happy to hear suggestions although I'm not without ideas).

I so much wanted to give kentol the 1939 Red Sox.

Then he'd have two different versions of Joe Cronin, Jimmy Foxx and Lefty Grove. That would be something screwy and pretty original.

But alas, I've decided to create for him the $ 28 million outfield of Al Simmons, Lefty O'Doul and Chuck Klein. That trio alone nets him over 100 HR's and each has a slugging percentage well over .600.

Western Union has also just delivered me a telegram announcing that in a surprise development kentol's Head of Finance has quit.

Kentol gets the 1929 Philadelphia Phillies.

Hello _Jwillis...

You have a pretty interesting first round pick in the 69' Mets. Every Pitcher here is stellar. No doubts about it.
Your r2 agrees with that the only good part of the 29 RedSox is the only good part is pitching. I am given a very interesting solution to draft up. You lack a lot of hitting outside of the Outfield. I plan to make that worse. Go ahead and have the 1979 Detroit Tigers.

There's plenty to go around! no SP with over 200IP, so you will for sure get a RP that's decent.

You can have a starting C with 500 PA! but he costs 4.6M and bats .267...
You can also have a starting 2B for 4.2M! Have fun with a backup that now costs 2M minimum as you have no other 2B available. Your good OF Hitting gets better! and costs 4.7M at the least! Unsure who you are going to put at 3B considering that none of your options bats above .255 and costs below 1.6M.

Going to love to see what you can pull together!

jpeterso - You chose those '69 Orioles and man, that team seems to have just about all the bases covered. Thankfully, you can only use 7 of them. I'm thinking that other teams in this division can only try to limit your options by giving you little additional hitting, no affordable back-ups, and zero decent pitching. I really liked the decision by _jwillis to stick you with the '69 Padres. I've searched for another team won't give you much help and hopefully force you to make some tough decisions. It's the end of the 3rd round and a lot of the really bad options are gone - I've decided you should have the 1939 Pittsburgh Pirates.
