Six times since 2007, a pitcher has struck out 10+ batters in the same game in which he hit a home run. Four of those performances were by Brewer pitchers (Gallardo twice, Capuano once, Greinke yesterday) and the other two were by future Brewers (CC Sabathia as an Indian, Randy Wolf as a Dodger).

What a sweet sweet win to open the series in Florida. Braun with a pinch-hit two-run homer in the ninth to put the Crew up a run.. Axford walks the bases loaded in the bottom half before striking out the last batter to earn the save.

As a side note, the stadium seemed to be largely empty.

For the second straight night, the Axe Man nails down the save with a strikeout, tying run sitting on third base. Brewers win 3-2. Florida was 14-5 iin one-run games entering the series but has now lost two straight to start the series.

Make it three straight as Josh Wilson's 11th-inning home run (the Brewers' first hit since the fifth inning) lifts Milwaukee to a 6-5 win.

Brewers complete a four game sweep at Florida with a 7-2 win, earning the franchise's 1000th NL victory, and draft two college pitchers in the first round.  Both of whom will be busts.

The Brewers' 2010 first round pick, pitcher Dylan Covey, who opted to enroll at the University of San Diego after learning from a team physical that he had diabetes, had quite the stellar year for the Toreros.

34.1 innings, 35 runs allowed, 29 earned, 28 walks, OAV .295. Yikes.

There is nothing in the world like watching the Brewers complete a 5 run comeback at Miller Park during a thunderstorm.

Kameron Loe Suuuuuuuuucks.

The Brewers drafted Boras' kid this week. Speculation is he dropped 30 rounds or so due to signability concerns...

Brewers, who used to crush lefties, are shut down by Capuano and Niese at home versus Mets, lose two of three and need miraculous comeback to take the middle game. Cards in town this weekend, could be a big series. But not if the Crew doesn't start hitting.

SWEEEPPP!!!

I guess a 0.55 era isn't good enough to pitch the 8th inning when the guy who usually does with 6 losses is unavailable.
