Last season I missed the tourney. We had a weak OOC schedule thus my RPI wasn't good bc our conference isn't good. I should win my conference pretty easily imo. Was it a good strategy to schedule super tough OOC schedule to help RPI?

have to vary your schedule to take into account your team and your conference

Generally, my approach is to target two criteria

1. win 8-10 OOC games
2. play opponents that I think will win the most games, subject to goal #1 - note, I didnt say the best teams, I said teams that will win the most games - since opponents wins matter

One can get more complex and more subtle, but above criteria have served me well.

Doesn't beating Wardo count for ten times as much? Seriously, try to schedule sims with lots of sophomores that will be JRs. You should be able to beat them and they will have a good RPI.

Also try to schedule teams that meet certain RPI thresholds (top 100, top 50) that are important for the PR. If you think you have a borderline tournament team, I'd stock my non-con with teams I expect to finish in the 80-100 RPI range (preferably from smaller conferences where they will rack up lots of non-con wins)

Yea I think my ooc is a little too tough for my team unfortunately. Appreciate the input

Pretty good video from the0nly that gives a little bit of insight on how the RPI is calculated and how to schedule.

Look at the 6 sim teams on my schedule for next year. I would do that for all ten teams if you are just trying to make the tournament.

You have a heck of a team and just had two toss-up losses. Good luck!

He is going to lose more and wont win 8 to 10 games this non conference. He will probably be lucky to go to.the postseason this year. Meanwhile I will get 8 wins this non conference schedule all road games and sims. He screwed himself over with that tough scheduling.

And he will screw you over when you play +5 and he outrebounds you by 20 and Harry Schiffman is insane with 25 points and 12 Rebounds.

I would rather him score a two than a three and what makes you think i'm going to play +5 against him? I adjust my gameplan from game to game. Couple more losses against users and I should be able to win the series.
