People have to get back to work, and in jobs that pay better. Pay is stagnant. Takehome pay is less than in 1999. People in Washington don't have an issue paying their mortgages, or healthcare. The main body of the electorate are hurting. The folks in the east lost sight of that. Trump tapped into that frustration. They see him as a problem solver. Perhaps his approach as a businessman will get things moving, whereas the bureaucrats weren't accomplishing much, other than burdening us with debt.

On Thursday, nearly 1 trillion dollars left the bond market. Investors see an opportunity to sink their money into the market, and into their businesses. This is very encouraging. The wealthy have been ratholling their money. They are eager to put it to work.

One thing to consider. George W. Bush wanted to see Social Security benefits be put into the market, to give recipients a better return on their money. Democrats pushed back, saying it would put recipient's assets at risk. This could be done, through an annuity or Treasury backed securities, with guaranteed income at no risk. The bond market movements could adversely put fixed incomes at a disadvantage. This move would offset this. I would like to see a voluntary program, as nothing more than a trial run for all to see how it would work...

Don't be surprised if Trump calls for privatizing Social Security. And with it Democrats screaming bloody murder. This is a possibility. And it would work. A guaranteed 3-4% return is not out of reach. That would give recipients a better chance of keeping up with inflation. Interest rates in a robust economy will go up.

If Trump seriously goes down this path, I would like to see him go on TV, go into seniors living rooms, and explain why he wants to do this, how it would be carried out, and that this is done at no risk to them. That it is in their best interests that this is proposed. So to not scare the bejesus out of them...FDR's fireside chats went a long way to gaining America's trust, and was a constant reassurance ...this would be similar in nature...

The debt of 20 trillion isn't the worst. We are looking at 100+ trillion additional before 2040 if we don't get our entitlement programs straightened out. That can is too big to kick down the road...

My biggest fear regarding Trump is how he deals with Wall Street. I am not in favor of letting them run wild. There must be enough oversight, and regulation, to keep them in line. The appointment of a Fed Chairman and Treasury secretary with stones is critical...The fat cats will make their money regardless. It must be done fairly and ethically.

For real tho, there's a reason why all the dignitaries and **** come here to the USA for medical treatment. We have the best care. Before Obamacare, the wait time for a heart was like 3 months, while in countries like Canada, where there's free healthcare, it was like 6 years. I'll have to look up the stats again, but free healthcare has always been, and will always be, a disaster. Idk why democrats keep wanting it.
Alright, I stay out of US politics as much as I can, but I gotta speak up here. The wait times in Canada "for a heart" are not 6 years, that's just ridiculous. Wait times for heart transplants are based solely on the availability of a donor heart. If one is available in five minutes you'll have one in five minutes. The wait times for non-emergency specialist care are longer, but are comparable for emergency care. The quality of care, according to the World Health Organization, is basically equal: Canada ranks 30th and the US ranks 31st. The big difference is in per capita expenditures, where the US is the highest in the world. Far, far more money is spent on healthcare in the US than anywhere else in the world, for marginal gains in outcomes. That is your money being spent for pretty mediocre returns.
WHO rankings:
World Bank per capita expenditures
Health care spending as a proportion of GDP
Including private expenditures:
Life expectancy at birth (Note the correlation between countries with publically funded health care systems and longer expectancies)
I'm well aware that there is no argument I can make that will convince you, and vice versa, but I just can't stand by and let you call publically-funded (NOT FREE!) healthcare "a disaster." We spend less and have outcomes that are at least as good. That does not sound disastrous to me.

"look at the map. It is red. Very red."

Well, if the SLB and Hardball Dynasty forums voted for Hillary, while the Golf, Race Car, Boxing, NHL, Soccer and FC Dynasty forums voted for Trump, you could say that WIS was very red, too.

But of course since you're an SLB owner you know something about stats, and you can probably figure out for yourself why this might not be the wisest way to measure anything.

Great post. But Professor Trump who's no doubt studied the issue exhaustively has already deemed Canada's healthcare system "A total disaster! SAD!" so I'm afraid it's not going to have much of an effect on anyone.

1/3 of Dem House members come from 3 states: California, New York and Massachusetts. The rest of the country finds them very much out of tune...

Ha, it'd be all about WAR -- and war -- no matter which of the big two had won!
