I'm not the one protesting. I am on record for wishing Obama well when he took office. Others here insist the election of Trump was race driven. I see it differently. Was just offering proof that some Dems see it as I do. As for Obama, I am not a fan. He has largely governed by executive fiat. His legacy will largely disappear with Trump's delete key. Yes I saw obstructionism. On both sides. Boehner learned early on that Obama had no desire to compromise. Many Republican bills rotted on Reid's desk, or not signed by POTUS. And Republicans weren't interested in giving in to Obama's wants. I know Obama believes he's done a great job. I see it differently. He wanted Hillary to carry the torch. Voters had different ideas. I really thought the GOP was in danger of falling apart. Now it looks just the opposite.

I try very hard to not get upset when someone sees it differently. We are all products of our environment. Our life events shape us. I have a conservative and military background. It is who I am. I don't find liberal ideals to my liking. Socially I am a bit moderate, but fiscally conservative. I have been around the block. I understand why liberals are passionate about their beliefs. I don't try to convert them. I see compromise, the ability to find common ground as a good thing. I am troubled only by those that claim to be more tolerant than I, but intolerant when they encounter a point of view that differs from their own.

I disagreed when Trump spoke of deporting 11 million illegals. The immigration courts are backlogged as it is. Litigation would take years. I am in favor of securing the border. Rubio has made good points on how to proceed. I know many that have immigrated legally. Those waiting their turn to enter legally should see it as a slap in the face if we don't enforce the laws already on the books. Sanctuary cities to me are a haven for crime. I feel we should protect citizens, not harbor criminals. I am not a fan of breaking up families, but I vote for law and order.

A leaked internal memo from Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign says that fencing at the US-Mexico border could help cut down on illegal immigration.

The memo, which was made public by anti-secrecy organization WikiLeaks, is dated September 7, 2008 and contains a list of immigration promises and proposals.

One of Obama’s “core goals,” according to the memo: “Preserve the integrity of our borders to reduce illegal immigration.”

“Securing our borders will not solve the illegal immigration problem in isolation, but combined with an earned path to citizenship for the undocumented and new legal alternatives to unauthorized entry, some additional fencing could help get the border under control.”

Good one Laramie....... call me out for name-calling. If being called a liberal is name-calling then what are your comments of "jerks" and "uneducated morons" or " MORONIC uneducated fools"? What are those HUH? Where is your personal integrity? You can't even hold yourself to the same level as what you want from others. That makes you a hypocrite.

All I have done is present FACTS about Obama and Hillary. No one has been able to dispute any of them. I am not a hate monger. I want the best for our country as much as anyone. You can stand there proud as can be, saying you didn't vote for Trump. Instead, IMO you threw your vote away to Gary Johnson, someone who didn't have a rats chance in he!! of winning. You could have just as well not voted at all.

When did I WANT our President to fail, Show me where I said that. IMO Obama did fail, that doesn't mean I wanted him to. You are twisting my words to fit your ranting. Yes I think our country could be in a lot better shape than what it is. If pointing a finger at Obama for his failed policies and reckless spending is placing blame then so be it. The saying goes.... if the shoe fits....

I cry foul, sir. He has the right to vote for whom he wishes, and without ridicule...

We are seeing Trump voters beaten up, and Clinton voters bullied. That must stop. We are all Americans...

Yes this is a great country. But there is a lot of room for improvement...we often disagree what medicine needs to be administered, but we want the patient to be healthy and happy.

I stand corrected. But then you should also cry foul for his bad mouthing of Trump voters. We all have the right to vote for whoever we wish without ridicule.

It isn't what Obama thinks that is important. It's what time will have to say about our current status......... and where the road leads into the future, and what role he had in shaping that road.

I have no doubt Obama did what he thought was best for the Country. Half the apparatus did all they could to ensure his failure.
Any failures were NOT the result of policies designed to bring about ruin to our Nation as so many on the repub. side tried to infer (and more in many circles).

Murders in Chicago and elsewhere can NOT be layed at the President's feet. Violence has been an ever present component of our Nation forever. Obama made NO policies that had ANYTHING to do with killings in Chicago.

The animosity aimed at Obama is hard to explain (IF you don't consider race)............ even George W. was not so personally reviled. His critics (of whom I was one) almost to a person didn't question his loyalty, or his effort, or his Americanism. The right took it much much farther with Obama.
Bush was a good man at heart. Perhaps in over his head, and sure, he made some mistakes---they all do.
Obama is no different. As Pres. Trump said himself. He's a "good man". If American citizens can't recognize the effort and heart of this President, then I must ask why not? I suspect the ONLY real answer is racism. Good old fashioned American racism. It lurks in most all our hearts. Those that protest the loudest "not me" are usually the worst and just can't be honest with themselves!

We are exceptional after all. We've been exceptionally violent and racist for decades.

And Doc.......... I'm not speaking of you personally here!
I haven't noted you resorting to blaming others and name calling fellow citizens.

Last point. I am anything BUT tolerant. In fact I'm the most intolerant person I know.
I have no use for ignorance, idolness, lazyness, greed, unkindness, etc.
It's why I don't like about 99% of all humanity.
I think they're mostly irresponsible and ignorant.

It's also why I love baseball. It's perfectly logical and it's VERY intolerant of mistakes and lack of attention to detail.
But I digress.

Back to arguing politics...........the most useless enterprise in all of creation.
Me........... I'm getting back to day to day life........... and setting up my progressive teams..............

Truth be told, some Trump supporters are deplorable. Same for some who voted for Secretary Clinton...

The bashing needs to stop. George Washington could have become King if he had sought the position. He deferred to a peaceful transition to the next in line. Perhaps it was modesty, or he was a pretty smart cookie...all Americans need to accept the President-elect, and get back to work...

I don't question Obama's love of country. I have rolled my eyes over his policies. He is 100% convinced that he is doing a great job. I belly laugh, but he's the President. I am stuck with him for 2 more months...

I see Obama's approval rating as a popularity vote. People view the man favorably. I see the vote as a referendum on the country's progress, or the lack of, and a vote against Hillary. She and Trump had huge unfavorable numbers. Many votes were cast against a candidate, instead of a vote for.

Look around your community, people you know. Those that voted for Trump. Were their votes racially motivated, or to keep a woman out of the Oval Office? I think no. Like I said, they voted their concience, and their checkbook.

I am hoping to see a woman President in the near future. Heck, it IS the OVAL office... :)
