one prediction that is highly unlikely to be accurate is that all teams will go slow and zone

people will surely approach 3.0 in different ways - some will adjust their sights on acceptable recruits and go 11 and 12 deep - others will play with eight. The guys who play 12 deep will go fast

there is much to like in 3.0 and much that I dont like, but that prediction will be wrong

Recruiting has been a problem thewizard but do wait on new fixes. They said they were working on some. I had the same complaint for D1, once you lose rolls, hell breaks. When you have 6, hope for 5 or 4, if you are lucky... don't go international more than on one recruit etc.

The original post has been deleted, but was written by thewizard. Just want to give thewizard props for probably the most amazing accomplishment since i started HD 3+ years ago:

in Phelan, he took the Hartford Hawks of the Patriot League to the Final Four. I think this was the only low-major in any HD World to advance that far in at least 50 seasons. So 4 Final Four teams each season, for 50 seasons is 200 schools, across 10 Worlds, is 2,000 Final Four slots in HD... and only 1 low major has made it, his Hartford Hawks. Wow.

From what i remember, he did it by an awesome cat-and-mouse strategy... one round he shot zero 3-pointers, the next round he shot 40 threes, next round back to zero 3-pointers again... anyway something like that... legendary.

I think we need to retain these coaches. I fear NC and Duke are about to open up in Phelann D1. Thewizard was at Missouri, excellent strat for a rebuild, he did the 6-6 strat but now, he is not able to get 6 frosh. It seems that is what bothers him. I totally chang d my strat, I had better results so far because I lowered my expectations and know It's tough to fill all schollies, which is why I think getting rid of level 1 in scouting, fixing ees would be a nice compromise for D1.

Did the thewizard have a change of heart and remove his posts or was it WIS?

I like 3.0 a lot but there are definitely a few things that I'd like to see changed. However, I have no problem with people saying they don't like it or stating why they don't like it.

Looks like a midnight rant. Alcohol probably involved. And a change of heart when he woke up. I didn't see anything that would prompt WifS to remove the posts.

It works fine in D3 and D2, not really different, heck coaches who know the game have a definite edge. D1 needs a bit of work. At PSU, I am trying to catch up, a D2... I gave minutes and guaranteed start to
a true D1 player. I hope they made a point on fixing D1 effort versus D2. Will see. Once they do some retooling, the game could actually be better at D1 cause it's less of a prestige auction on than it was before.

"I hope they made a point on fixing D1 effort versus D2."

I agree. High D1's can crush low D1's and all D2's much too easily. But it's not a major thing.

Funny Spud. No player, effort or not, with D1talent will pass up a guaranteed start to play in the Big 10. He won't say: you had supper at my house 10 times, for that reason, I am coming to Chaminade...

On behalf of the Hawaiian Tourism Council, I would just like to point out that the beaches a college student can reach with just a short walk from Chaminade are some of the finest on the planet and co-eds look way nicer in swim attire than they do bundled in parkas during five months of Minnesota blizzard...
