Please remind me "Why" again! Topic

Dear programmers,

Please remind me the "why" in that the logic dictates that "D1" projected players including top ranked ones, sign at D2 the very first signing cycle of Part 2 recruiting. Even though I am not among those who have EE problems, I really find it quite poor of you that the very first cycle, these guys go to the lower division. Yeah I know the "party line" is that you should have recruited better, but the truth of the matter is that is really the entire BS behind why so many D1 guys feel you are attempting to take away the D1 advantage, in favor of "dumbing"down the game.

Here is what "******" me off about the logic. You want us to battle, so we do during part one recruiting. And we miss out at the last cycle. So we have AP's just sitting there that you do not allow us to re-distrubute until part two starts. And when it does, you have every possible good D1 player showing D2 schools looking at them and for the most part interested. Well sir, nine hours later you could only have 80 AP max history, and nothing unlocked any possible actions. So every single D1 projected kid, that is an "early" preference goes D2. That is BS of the highest level, and I will grit my teeth and say that is an area that Real Life needs to be mirrored here (yes I grit my teeth because I have said "but this is not RL" too many times before). This is not only unfair to EE teams, but now you have D1 schools scurrying around to find D2 players....and that is not what I have paid thousands of dollars in my WIS hobby for.

If I have a team at D1, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO RECRUIT AND SIGN D1 QUALITY PLAYERS...DO YOU HERE ME WIS!!!! And if on the last day of signings I pull down a D1 guy to my D2 squad (or a D2 guy to my D3 team) that should be the icing on the cake for me. WIS you want all us old timers to "pump up the good vibe" so some of the free seasons stay, well we can do that. BUT, and that is a big butt. The FOX Sports group, and WIS have forgotten that alot of guys like me, who do this for fun and have never been more then mediocore play this game for fun, and we are the people who actually give you good word of mouth. I choose to spend my money here, don't play XBOX on line, or PS1, or World of Warships or any of the hundred massive multiplayer games offered on STEAM. I play HD, period end of statement. Please listen to this concern. Everyone can see that D3 Worlds are filling, and those are mostly free seasons and rewards...Look at D1 across the WIS Universe and you will see that all is not as rosy as you say it is in Paradise. I really enjoy the feel of 3.0, but you are blowing it with how you treat "Part 2" recruiting.

Basically another argument that there should be at least 1 signing free cycle in the 2nd session. I think it's a good idea (even though it hurts my D3 teams).

You're right, but they don't care (at least not enough to fix this obvious problem quickly).

No one likes this but here's what HAS to happen because, when there's a battle, a USER loses:

Some players will not drop down. They WILL not accept AP from lowel level schools. It doesn't have to be every player. It doesn't have to be a player at x-overall. But you can't let a user dump resources into a player at a higher level who will simply bail if a projected level school comes calling.

IOW, D1 player says "No thanks, I'll not play at your crap D2 school. I'd rather serve burgers at McDonalds, *****."

Two things happen:
1. D2 user does not waste resources on a guy who'll jump ship immediately if a D1 school shows up.
2. D1 user sees player considering a D2 school. D1 user knows he might lose on the next cycle and moves on.

Why would anyone disagree with this?

just replied to this situation in the other thread....this is like forum adhd for reals, guys!
12/16/2016 6:39 PM
Well, when there are 68 threads, uh, what word SHOULD I use, "discussing" this exact situation, you'll get some repeats.
12/16/2016 6:48 PM
Your response did not address what I suggested as the solution. But that's OK. Another thread about this exact same thing will pop up by Sunday.

It needs to be changed. If I show at PSU on a one star project, offered him a start and minutes, why would he sign with a D2 team. When a d2 team goes for a player like this, it's high risk, high reward, so if we challenge, too bad.
12/16/2016 9:25 PM
So, in RS1, D2 team starts pouring AP, HV, promises of minutes/start and CV that should mean nothing when D1 team shows up in RS2 and begins to recruit?

Surely you recognize the problem that poses to the user at D2.
12/16/2016 9:36 PM
And, for the record, you "challenge" too late when he signs with D2 in the current situation. Don't show up to a 5 round fight in the 5th round. You already lost the first 4.
12/16/2016 9:38 PM
OK - Here is an example of why I agree. With my A+ prestige UConn team, I had one opening in the first cycle and signed a player, while building credit on two more late players. However, I had 4 EEs. So, in the first cycle of the second period I went all in with 80 AP to unlock another player (Bradley Jennings, the #140 PF) that was only being recruited by D2 St. Michael's. I unlocked him, and unlocked every possible recruiting action, and was very high, compared to St. Michael's who dropped to high. Yet, the player signed with St. Michael's, because I did not have time to unlock the scholarship offer. It should have been obvious that a Top D1 program was extremely interested in him, but he signed with a D2 program.

Even worse, a 4 star PF William Christian, the #13 PF was signed by D2 Benedict as "high" over Very High Virginia and Hofstra. He was also being recruited by 8 other D1 teams. I didn't go after this player because I saw so many D1 teams on him. But, what is the logic of a 4 star highly recruited player going to a D2 school?

It should be possible for an A+ D1 team to beat a D2 team if they are serious. I really like most everything about the new system, but this part is definitely not realistic and should be addressed.

I am OK because I will probably just have another walk-on, but I am really looking for realism, and this is not realistic.

chaps - if you had done a bit more on that guy in first recruiting session, could you have won?
12/16/2016 10:03 PM
Yeah, probably. But I only had one open scholarship, and I figured I might have two EEs, so I focused on two better players, building up credit on them. And Mike - I don't think they dumped much into that guy either because I passed him with just 80 AP and no scholarship. I am just looking for realism, and my feeling is that if a player is getting the maximum attention from an A+ D1 program, he'd probably not sign with a D2 program.
