Are all perimeter shots 3's? I have a couple guys who are set to not take 3's, but should I increase their perimeter ratings for jump 2's?

I am not sure what you are exactly asking.

A high PERIMETER score helps all scoring.

The +/- setting only applies to 3 point shots.

I think he's asking if you increase the perimeter rating, will the player shoot better on 2pt jumpshots. Answer is yes.

Yes, thanks, that is what I was wondering.

Does it work the same for guards shooting in the low post? Is it worth it to increase a guards low post ability?

It was mentioned in another thread that LP also applied to drives to the basket.

Assuming that is correct, and that I'm catching on, a high ATH/SPD guard will drive to the hoop and the LP will determine how well he finishes.

Yes, for sure the LP will help him finish at the rim but I don't believe it impacts him getting fouled and going to the FT line. This is determined by ATH/SPD.. and maybe BH?

I think the "Jump Hook" play that I feel like my guards take about 90% of the time (slight exaggeration) is affected by LP rating.

For guards, I feel like it's a nice bonus but not necessary (at least at D3). You can still have a great scoring guard who has a LP of 1 but high Per, BH, Ath, Spd (or some combination of those). Like this guy for example-

Johnny : I think if you are flex you need perimeter scoring, three options is great. If you are motion or triangle, I tend to get two options. Hopefully, they have nice BH and 90 + per, even in D3... But sometimes, you have to settle for 80+ at D3.

You don't NEED Per in Flex to be a good scorer at D3. I had a really good run with Ramapo awhile back and all my best scorers had at avg Per ratings. You DO need superior ATH or Spd though. Not saying it's not great to have high Per ratings. But in my opinion you don't need to bend over backwards to make sure you get it and sacrifice other things like defense/spd/ath. Here are my best guards at Ramapo. Some of them DID have pretty good LP for a guard though.

Yes. High LP guards can be awesome scorers. They work better when paired up with a high ATH.

Kinda.

First, the game decides who will shoot. It looks at distro, each players ATH and SPEED, the defense (and it's settings), and each defender's ATH, SPD and DEF to determines who is "open".

Then it decides what type of shot. There is a calculation based on the LP/PER ratio, +/- settings, the defense, the offensive guys position and a few other things probably.

Once the game decides WHO will shoot and WHAT TYPE OF SHOT it decides if the shot goes in. It's an opposed roll that pits the offensive's guys ability vs the defensive guys ability. LP helps in this equation.

You don't need an 80 PER at D3 to be a good perimeter scorer.

This guy is ok at 63:
