Apparently there is no going back. Heard third hand that one of the pre-Seble people said the previous version, which I liked and was comfortable in, was not documented, and that Seble and his crew made it so we couldn't go back and maybe make small changes. Scouting/recruiting--the changes go way further than that.

Rumors like that, even though they make exactly zero sense, proliferate around here.

Actually, seble said in a thread or dev chat, that the old recruiting scheme was legacy software that was very hard to revise. He said - and this is a close paraphrase - that that problem pushed hard against making small changes in recruiting and toward a bigger change.

and no, I dont have a link to it - but it was said publicly by seble

I remember this similarly.

Thank you, coach Spud, for your continuing contributions to the betterment of HD by your constant railing against any poster that criticizes the changes made in 2016. Your loyalty is commendable. Since you were undoubtedly one of the select circle, maybe you know if we can go back and start over.

Do you think that's a possibility? I can almost guarantee that it is not.

Thank you, flageezer, for your continuing contributions to this thread.

Coach Spud--you do know that one guy that shares your opinion about the changes has run into a rule Seble put in that they didn't know about, and he is not well-pleased. What other landmines are there that Seble thought appropriate but neglected to tell you guys about? Guess until you run up against one of them, you will continue to be an apologist, sensitive to any slight against the new ways. D1 Iba is hollowing out. Guess all those coaches could not handle the very valid changes made in the game, as you see it.

flageezer, your post looks like it is written in English ... but it makes no sense, or certainly makes no point. Spare us the efforts at sarcasm. Is there something you are trying to say?

Spud--your loyalty to Seble is commendable, but he is gone. Sort of like being loyal to Jimmy Carter. Beside the point. Seble made a host of changes to fit how HE, PERSONNALLY felt would fit the way HE, PERSONNALLY wanted to play. Basically a one-man show. Problem is, he was only a modestly successful coach who wanted to "fix" things so that guys like him could win sometimes. So you have anomalies like a C+ D3 sim beating out an A D1 human-coached team for a 5-star recruit. Or that if you take over a team from a human coach, you somehow don't get your attention points, according to one person that did just that. Lots of landmines, intentionally or unintentionally put in place.
Now if you want to be a part of the solution rather than just being part of the problem, you will admit that recruiting has become a random walk; game play has been too much affected by Seble's crusade to level the playing field; and who knows what is up with many sims seemingly changing their offenses and defenses every season? We need to document the problems so that when the staff gets itself together, they can be addressed.
BTW, being snarky to me is ineffective. Been chewed out in my working life by more than one two-star general. Snarky posts may give you a measure of self-gratification, but they contribute nothing to the forum.

Welcome to the spudhole forums
step 1 - spud invades a thread with a sarcastic azz hat comment towards someone
step 2 - user replies to spudhole snarky comment
step 3 - spudhole calls user background noise ( oh the irony)
step 4 - spudhole finds another thread to invade

he is sort of like a virus, invading each thread and spreading through the host forums like Ebola

Would the above be considered a snarky post?

Yes, that is part of step 2

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out what qualifies as snarky, trolling, etc, etc in this forum.

I can flow chart this for you for a $10 WIS gift card and Coachward's autograph
