Who gets the credit for a drafted player Topic

Who gets the credit for a drafted player, the guy who recruited him, or the guy who is coaching him when he is drafted?

I am thinking of transferring away from Hawaii to a school that I have already selected but do not want to disclose for fear of someone stealing it. But I have junior who is "on the fence" about leaving, if I leave will I get credit for having a player get drafted?

I think you need to have done both to get credit for the guy - but I have not changed jobs in many seasons, I could be out of date on that.

I'm not sure what you mean by "credit."

The school he is drafted from can get 1/3 temporary prestige bump if the guy is a high enough draft pick.

I think it is both. In Tark, I recently left Miss St to coach Georgetown. I had a player I recruited at Miss St that I recruited that got drafted. He would've been my first draft player, however I did not credited for him. Hope this helps.

I was assuming you mean the credit that a coach gets toward future job opportunities.

The school gets whatever prestige bump it gets, without regard to the coach.

Yes, I meant credit towards future job opportunities.

When is the draft on the timeline, it doesn't say.

I believe immediately after postseason ends

The NBA draft occurs immediately after the "New Coach sign-ups start" after the start of the new season in HD 3.0 (so after existing coaches job change period has already ended). It use to occur right after the post-season but now you don't even get the prestige bump in the 2nd recruiting cycle anymore.

In order for a drafted player to appear on your visible resume, you will have to be still coaching at the school he was drafted from assuming you were the one who recruited him (your name will appear as the coach who recruited him if you click on his player card though).

As far as I know you don't get a bump in resume status if you have a player drafted that you recruited at a previous school.

How does it happen after new coach sign ups start? How would you fill the empty spot? I don't think that's right.

If you are referring to how do you replace an EE during the 2nd recruiting session, it is extremely difficult and you have to do it *without* the additional prestige bump you would of gotten in HD 2.0.

The prestige bump (if you stayed at the school) won't help you until the *following* season (one of the many stupid drawbacks of HD 3.0 with regards to EEs) so it doesn't help you replace the player that left (even if we're talking about a SR player getting drafted).

No my question is, how does the draft happen after new coach sign ups, because there is not a recruiting period after that, so there would be no players to replace the lost guy. By new coach sign ups you mean coaches not already in the world coming in right? Not the people moving from job to job period?

Early entries happen before the 2nd session of recruiting. You don't get the prestige credit until the next season.

Ok, that makes more sense.
