'A' Prestige D-I Loses to D-II -- Both Very High! Topic

agree, it would be bad for game play to reveal specific numerical factors for those differences - you learn the game and figure out what works.

cant make it just an algebra exercise

Yeah I'm aware they're not going to tell us. Seble told us they wanted to keep a lot of this information hidden. I'm fine with this for the most part... until it comes up to a situation like this where you have D3 beating D1. And while I didn't win the recruit, I did have the highest odds to sign him. And I didn't even put in that much effort. As jpmills said - doesn't pass the smell test for me.

I also agree with keeping the hood closed for exact numbers and figures, but if I were the one running the code I would want to make sure that the modifiers are being applied correctly. This seems like an easy thing to go awry. And if they are being applied correctly, then it should be a very easy thing to adjust.

Well that's the thing you didn't put much "effort" into the guy. As a result the curve isn't streched to the point where you have the highest odds possible.

Dear Coach K,

Im really sorry man but even though you offered me a scholly, visited my home 5 times, and invited me to your campus it has always been my dream to play for Catawba! Their 20 Home visits were just too many!
Even though when I was young I watched Duke-NC and not Catawba-Green Mountain I have always wanted to play in the front of 108 (109 if you include the usher) in the middle of nowhere instead of on front of 13,000 in the best stadium on the nation.

Yup! But you get to play 25 mpg instead of 15 mpg. Totally worth it!

Bump. Thought the A prestige D1 losing to D2 has only happened one time and proves nothing. Weird.

While I didn't end up winning, here's what just happened last night.

I'm at D3 CNU (A+) and I just lost a battle to D1 West Virginia (C+) BUT I was actually Very High to WVU's high.

Here's the amount of effort I put in
-200 APs
-Promised Start and 10 minutes

That's it. And I almost beat a B6 team. I don't know how much effort they put in, nor do I really care. I really don't think this makes sense. And CLEARLY I'm not 'whining about losing my candy' because I'm the D3 team that lost.
I forgot about this. Even worse than a D2 beating a D1.

They need to fix this asap.

Let's bump a dead thread to see if it's still dead.

Yup, it is.

Great to see another award winning post from Spud.

Almost as great as the pointless bumping of a dead thread, eh? Are you trying to divert attention from that?

How can an 'A' prestige D-I team lose to a D-II team when both are considered very high? Who would design a game that runs like that?

Campus visit, multiple home visits, 15 min of PT, plus more than 500 Attention points were given by D-I team, which has had an RPI of 22 or better the past 11 Years!!

Random and chance are one thing, but this is completely unrealistic.

Trying to stay with this "game," but this is getting stupid.
If both are very high .. nothing else matters.

Very High, by it's Very Definition, means 'you have at least a 40% chance to sign' in a 2 team battle.

Divisions don't matter, prestige does not matter .. all of that was taken into account for every action BEFORE the odds were told to you (very high).

Once VH is listed, it means at least a 40% shot in a two team battle .. no one should be surprised that a team which is High or Very High signs anyone .. High as at least a 30% chance to sign and VH has at least a 40% chance (again, in a two team battle) to sign.
