So we are entering the 2nd session of recruiting in Phelan and I want to cut a player from my team. It is a guy that I didn't recruit last season (the SIM did because I had to take 4 walk-ons and I guess it only lets you take 3 now?). His name is Zlatko Zenz and he is terrible. Anyway I lost a bunch of battles in session 1 and then also lost both guys that I had "on the fence" on the draft board so now I am down to 4 returning players (not counting the SIM recruited guy) plus the 1 crappy player I landed at the end of the 1st recruiting session. So 5 players total right now. I still want to cut this guy though.

Anyway, it says we can rescind scholarships now, but when I go to manage roster it is not giving me the option to do so. The only thing it is allowing me to do is offer scholarship to the other 3 crap walk-on players. Anyone know why I can't cut this guy? Is this something with the new game...

I can rescind right now in Phelan... Odd. Could be due to the number of openings you have? There was old code where you couldn't cut to get past 6 or 7...

2 SR plus 2 EE plus 3 Walkons = 7 ships already i'm sure that's the reason.

that stinks if that is the case...so even once I sign guys it still won't let me cut him? Pretty dumb since they forced the guy on me in the first place. Also basically because I had both my guys go EE now I can't cut they guy...wow this game

Walkons ARE an open scholarship. His count is correct for the number of open scholarships the he has at this time.

IF you are in the 1st recruiting period NOW. (I think you are?). Between the recruiting periods there will be the window to rescind.

we are in the 2nd session. there was no period to rescind between the recruiting periods. the period to rescind is right now, it says it at the top of my team homepage.

This isn't completely correct, you can rescind all the way up until the last cycle now in period 2.

Ah, didn't know they changed that. My bad. So, yes, sign a guy and you can cut someone.
