Recruiting Not Working Properly Topic

Yep. I switched to M2M this season precisely because of that issue. A 9 deep press team is a dead press team. I'll revise my statement about going exclusively for D1 players to: I have to go exclusively for high potential powerhouse type players, because whether you got them off the D2 list or the D1 list, that's what my competition is, powerhouse players.

Just remove the projected level and all is good. But I'm not sure how that would affect SIM recruiting. I'm working under the assumption that SIM teams do not reach up.

I don't think they do. I could be wrong, but I've never seen it if they do. Aside from the fact that few sim teams ever built enough momentum to ever see "Tweener" type players in 2.0. I have yet to see them reach in 3.0 either.

I think running FB/Press kind of forces you to be more risk averse in recruiting now. If recruiting doesn't go well, you can't take a couple walkons and be fine (typically). So for my CNU team, I don't want to go for D1 players only because I could really screw myself. I'm having good success going for D2 players though and I've gotten some gems.
I am starting to think that you can somehow avoid the risk by changing your structure of class. A 3-3-3-3 structure would do just fine if you are already on point with recruiting.

I've seen D3 teams go for D2 projected players so it can happen but I'm not sure it's very common. It seems more likely to happen in 2nd session from what I've noticed.

Now, are they going for GOOD D2 projected players? That's another story.

Bottom line - most sims are real bad and it's due to some horrible recruit generation.

That calls to mind another question: What was YOUR prestige relative to the sim team? Assuming you witnessed this from a D3 team, that is. I ask because one D3 team may "see" a recruit as D2, while to a higher prestige D3 team, the recruit is listed as D3. Or more correctly, that's the way things were in 2.0. Damned if all this doesn't bring to mind all the things I take fop granted from habit that might be very different now in 3.0.......

Actually, now that I think about it, there was a lot of overlap between Divisions too in the case of High D3 and Low D2 teams and how a recruit would appear to each of them. Assume the same was true for high D2 and Low D1 too.

I think they got rid of that feature with 3.0.

Excellent. Makes sense, since it really serves no purpose now.

Here's the thing(and I'll just use OVR because I'm not doing all the ratings. Long-winded post, etc, etc): I saw a 446 projected D1. Nothing about him said "D1". In fact, I didn't bother with him because nothing said "Good D3". He really looked like the 2 PG I recruited last season that were universally dismissed as "Meh, they're not terrible but your not winning tourney games if they're starters." Now we're not going to have a 6 page thread about them but the premise still applies. The projected level is a little jacked. And, IMO, serves no real purpose beyond scouting.

Three cycles since this thread started. What's the status?

Doesn't look like the recruit has signed with Skins' Kentucky team yet.

I didn't get him...there was another cycle with 80AP plus I decided to up the promise minutes to 20 but that still didn't get me above moderate to sign him. Next cycle a couple DI schools that had been Very Low jumped into the fray and he signed with one of them.

Not sure how my effort wasn't enough to get him to sign sooner but whatever. I'll be lucky to have 7 players on my team at this point.

How many visits did you do?
1/17/2017 4:15 PM
4 HV and 1 CV (although only 3 HV and 1 CV before the other DI teams popped up)

so total when it was just me and the 2 DIII schools: 190AP's, 20 minutes, 3HV, 1CV, scholly. Apparently not enough for a A- DI school to land a recruit.
