Cutting down on the rolling frenzy Topic

Phelan. First recruiting session. Rolling frenzy. So many battles, It puts a lot more random into the success of some teams. I hope something is done so that strategy, use of effort, can reduce some of these battles.

I thought the point of 3.0 was to encourage battles. No?

Yeah, I think it's achieved but It would be best if the result of these battles was not a role but more a strategic effort or a choice with implications.

OK, I'm gonna preface this with "I'm not being a dick" because I think I should but aren't you using strategy/choices in RS1? It's 72 hours between first AP process and first signing. And, if you're gonna lose, isn't it better to lose early so you can utilize a back-up plan? Because, if you lose late, then you're in with EE teams chasing the same players they now want. And one of you is gonna lose that one.

I love the frenetic style of recruiting in the first session.

It's more than frenetic this time around Trenton... it's battles everywhere resulting in plenty of rolls. But yeah, lose early is the way to go.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Personally, I've begun to recruit 10-12 players for 4 spots because I just try to get to High and hope that I win 30-50% of the battles. So I'm getting into tons of battles. If others emulate me, that's ok.

It has been a crazy recruiting period, totally agree. I usually think I have a solid grasp on where people will go based on past tendencies and openings, etc. wow was I wrong.

Wonder if UNC being open changed things a bit too though.

Out at Weber St., I have only recruited once but I signed 5 good DI players, including 3 in the top 200 and didn't see one human on one of my recruits. IT is worth noting that Utah and Colorado were not factors because they are currently 2 and 5 in RPI and were aiming much higher.

I think it is vital to aim at player with "Early" signing tendencies.
