I got an 83 defense walk on D3, it's red, but he had a 94 work ethic, and when I offered him a scholly, he became 100. Ath-13, Reb-15, (black) Might grow alot in those areas. LOL

Does he have any potential? I took a look at him and if he doesn't have any potential, I'd be cautious on keeping him around or playing him. He's super unathletic and slow and has no offense. And his stam of 49 is about as low as you'll see.

I haven't played D3 in years but he seems like a subpar player. Benis laid out the basic reasons why this is the case.

Based on your initial post it seems like you might be a bit confused about how work ethic interacts with potential. If a fully scouted rating is black (like ATH and REB here) that rating will only increase between 8-19 points. Even with a work ethic of 100 your player will not improve his black ratings more than this. The 100 work ethic means that he will get to his maximum potential quickly, but it doesn't increase his potential at all.

Since 3.0, I have actually found the walk on guys a little better quality. I have not offered, but had to strongly consider a couple.

At best case scenario, he might keep the opponents field goal percentage slightly down, but when you take into account the lack of everything else, he'll end up picking up more fouls, turning the ball over and with little offensive skill, just probably not worth it if you ask me.

Walkons are better. No way you give them a scholarship, but I have had some emergencies (like only having 8 REAL players on the roster) where I have let walkons play a few minutes just to let my good players rest. They are ok as a 4th string guy now.

Much better to play a walkon or two with 8 scholarship players to get to 9-10 in a rotation if you run press than to just run with 8.

Well, I am learning, can't win no matter what I do.
