I'm not even talking about the videos, which I've never watched because 1. I'd hate in some way to contribute to him making a penny or two by adding to his viewership count and 2. it's patently evident from both his in-game performance and comments he makes on this forum that he's got utterly no clue on multiple levels when it comes to the game. I feel extremely bad for newbies who might stumble across this and assume that since the guy is cranking out posts and vids he must know what he's talking about.
But what I was actually commenting on was the need for these constant "look at me!!" threads which he has started spamming out with great regularity in the forum. This is the third video-related thread within the past 5 days or so. We also have received a lovely Pokemon Duel post. And then there was the "I just won my first battle at D2" bragpost that got slapped on the end of a thread previously discussing the impact of prestige at D1 on the recruiting process.
In retrospect though, my intervention request shouldn't have been for his video equipment. It should have been for his keyboard and any other posting device he might have.
I'll be the first to say I've gone back and forth on Ward's purpose in the forums. Sometimes I think he's harmless, sometimes I think this massive troll game has run its course. That's where I am now.
I'm sort of waiting, not that I think it will happen, for his sudden epiphany that he's just not good at the game. Maybe it'll come when he never makes it to D1. Maybe it'll come once we stop feeding into his grand illusion.
He's being trolled by everyone here, myself included, because he's entertaining, for the most part. But now I feel bad. I'm with rednu. Ward should not be making videos intended to teach HD. Nor should we be subjected to them.
