How do you prepare for this....? Topic

Generally about EE complaints. EE affects a tiny percentage of users yet it's easily the most discussed topic. It may be a problem or it may be working as intended. But the top users, even the ones that complain constantly about EE, are still really successful.

But, as for my post count, it's under my username. No need for general observation.

Or, at the very least, know how EE works by now.
You sure do post a lot and I've noticed it's usually a very snarky comment to boot.
Is it snark to reply to snark with snark? Snark squared?
Nah that's just two people ******** at each other

Did I double-snark with my response?

Snark on snark crime?

I just had to post about some really bad luck that happened to UNC in Knight. They just lost 3 EE:

#30 on draft board - Robert Bliss, JR - On the fence
#31 on the draft board - Kyle Frost, FR - Staying
#34 on the draft board - Richard Wickham, SO - Likely staying

How do you prepare for something like this situation? Or even reasonably expect to lose a 'likely staying' and a 'staying' in the same offseason?
Not sure if it's as much bad luck as you're claiming, considering it was the #3 PF, #2 C and #1 SF and that same team made the Elite 8, shouldn't be all that surprising.

At this point I think removing the "big board" makes a lot of sense. Given the variability in which players declare it's only causing more frustration than it is doing good. So, remove the big board and owners just need to understand if they recruit a stud they risk losing them to the draft.

Mike, you should consider not partaking in the EE threads. It comes across as you hijack every thread on a subject that you have zero experience with.

Personally I think it affects more than 5% of the user base, but why don't you let the ones who it does affect talk without interruption.

I consider 'Likely going' a 90% change they're going pro.
On the fence roughly 50:50 chance
Likely staying 25% chance they go pro
Staying 5% chance they go pro

(I don't have data to back this up, so it's not gospel, just the feel I've gotten with the system)

That's why I consider it bad luck.

I think it was bad luck, based on my experience with those categories. I cant say that I have pursued the data, but it sounds roughly consistent with what I observe. So the random numbers came out badly for you - the game design issue is how bad should that be for your time - in competitive effect. It would be somewhat less bad if the EE decisions were announced sooner.

We'll see

I would say on that end, you're probably correct.

I'm thinking the draft board might not take into consideration how successful of a season a particular team had. It probably just focuses on current ratings.

Sigh. It's not all that difficult to understand the concept of great, young players declaring for the draft. It's also not all that difficult to understand that you don't get resources to replace them until the declare for the draft.

EE issues are not some complicated algorithm that stumps even MENSA members. It's an issue of great teams losing great players and being unable to replace them with more great players.

If I'm failing to "understand" the problem, please, I beg of you, explain it to me in great detail because I've been unable to read enough about them since rejoining the ranks of HD players. But use small words as I obviously missed something.

If those who are affected will start ONE THREAD on EE, and contain themselves within that thread, I won't post a single time in it until I have an EE. However, we know that won't happen. We need numerous threads about the same topic daily. Because we just do.

It's not an issue of replacing great players with more great players, I'd say it's an issue of not being able to replace great players with serviceable players or project players. Several times I've read 'well that coach should have planned ahead'. It's not possible to recruit 5 players (or even 4 players) with the resources of 2 open scholarships, especially with the preferences and the randomness of a recruits decision.

Again, this is subject that you have zero experience with. I encourage you not to ignore the EE threads.

And, as I've pointed out, several really good users continually reach E8/S16 despite EE. I don't know what they do but they win. Then they lose great players. Then they win again.

You did not explain in great detail using small words so I'm going to assume I fully understand the issues with EE. If I'm missing something, you may try again.

So I encourage you to step on down from that high horse. You didn't invent the wheel. It's a sim game on the internet. It's not that difficult to understand.

Ees is something to fix, we all know this. Something will be done, I am sure once they update all the little things, there will be something for EES.
3/30/2017 7:28 PM
I wish I could say "I'll say this one last time" but I know there will be three more EE threads before the weekend so................there is the real possibility that EE is working as intended. Guys like lakevin, and this is a compliment, complain constantly about EE but continue to succeed. Are they really being "punished" or "hindered"? They seem to keep on winning under the current system. Does it need to be "fixed"? Or do others need to figure out what they're doing?

I'm beginning to think it's the latter.
