I got Jobbed... AGAIN! Topic

For what it's worth; OP's conference record wasn't better than the guy who got the job. Nearly identical percentages, but recent success is a landslide.

I don't think the issue is there with job logic. Anyways, I also thought It was only ten years.

Seldom. It almost never goes well.
From what we've seen, you're also well received in the forums.
I keep telling people that you read the forums. This is proof that I'm right.
NO, you answered clouseb question about WIS support answering questions on the forum with "Seldom. It almost never works out." Nothing about WIS reading the forums. So you're wrong AGAIN!

I think Mike's point was that clearly WIS is reading the forums. How else would they know about his rep on here?

My understanding is that Experience includes your entire resume for that world. The 10 year window only applies to your Success rating.

That's why this hiring actually makes sense on the surface. The guy who got the job dominates in experience. Even though robins has a better 10 year success rating, that's only 1/4 of the equation. Not saying it's the right way to do things, but if the hiring logic works as they say it does, then this is the way it's going to come out every time.
CS's answer has always been the last ten seasons are all that gets factored into the jobs process. When I get home tonight I'll post a ticket I sent a couple years ago that states this.

The sad part is that it probably predates whoever is running the show now.

Here it is (from 1/24/15):

Me: Regarding resumes, how far back does the jobs logic look? 4 seasons? 10 seasons? All seasons?

Response: For the job process, we look at your past 10 seasons as a coach, or all seasons if you have less than 10 total.

This is copied directly from the HD FAQ, under the "Career" section:

Q: What do schools look for when they are hiring coaches? How can I move up?

A: When you browse the list of job openings, each one will have a brief bit of advice from your agent, which will give you an indication of whether you're qualified.

There are multiple factors that a school uses to decide whether to accept your application, including but not limited to (and not necessarily in this order):

  • Overall Experience
  • Recent Success (going back at most 10 seasons)
  • Reputation
  • Loyalty

I'm confused on what "experience" means. CS has always stated resumes only go back 10 seasons-has this changed?
Success is based on your 10 most recent seasons. Experience is your entire time in the world.

Thanks!

How is it weighted by division? Or is it all the same?

for example, does having 10 seasons at D1 mean the same for experience as 10 seasons at D2?

Or is 1 season at D1 equal to 3 seasons at D2 and 5 seasons at D3?

Aww, too bad. You let the non-readers off the hook. It was a funny conversation.
