One could argue that your points 1 through 3 are positives. Others might prefer to edge closer to WWIII. I guess it's a matter of personal preference.

The obsession with "retaliation" against a country that may have helped cause Hillary to lose strongly links back to my point that as hard as you might argue otherwise, this is very political for you.

Is risking getting millions of Americans killed by trying to escalate against a country with a lot of nukes and an unstable dictator to avenge your political loss in the election really a good trade in your eyes? I mean, there's really no cap to the potential death toll of ******* off Russia, up to "the World." But you think we should be trying to generate a Cold War-esque standoff?

That's not just garden-variety politically-motivated stupidity. It's literally suicidal. Utterly absurd.

Obviously pushback doesn't automatically mean WW3. But we've seen Trump go after revenge without much thought. Putin is more egotistical, impetuous, and temper-driven that Trump. Any amount of testing him is a bad decision.

At this point, aside from a serious escalation of war, or civil war, it doesn't matter to Trump whether or not the opposition see him as a lunatic. He is P.T. Barnum, he is the ringmaster. The entertainment is the Resistance. Some or much of the circus may be by design, or accidental. He very likely doesn't give a hoot about appeasing Dems any more than Obama did pleasing Republicans. He doesn't need the media, and if the Dems won't cooperate, and they spend their time and energy trying to sink him, then that leaves them less time to work on solving what's wrong in their own house. He implements his agenda. He has time for Congress to get their **** in one sock..
He is winning. Tis the winter of your discontent...your forecast is not for warm and sunny anytime soon.

If the economy improves by midterms, many will forget about Flynn, Russian collusion, and the other items harped on by the media, he will survive...
