MikeT: My wife gives me scores that way and it always grated on me. The Eagles did not win seventeen to thirty one, honey!

It's not less fun for everybody. And I'm not convinced there are less users.
If you're not convinced there are less users, then you're blatantly ignoring the decrease in population. Yes I understand a portion of that were users with multiple teams, but to believe we are not at less users is ridiculous.

The lack of posting is widespread and I have feared for awhile that it may indicate a decline in enthusiasm for the game. I suspect that there are a number of players who've reached a point where they don't like the game as much as they used to, but they hate not playing.
The game is less fun for sure but conference cash is another reason, good, bad, your conf success has practically no impact. Less to talk about or to cheer about. We had the best rpi in D2 Rupp as a conf... So what?
This is a good point zorzii. Conference cash definitely created a reason to root for your conference and root against the others. I honestly have little to no interest in other conferences right now.

Now I don't disagree that conference cash created a bit of an imbalance, especially at the high DI levels, but it really was the best way to draw more coaches together into conferences. Personally, I'd rather they would have kept conference cash, but dumped carryover. Carryover was the real problem.

100% agree with everything you said. Being able to carryover all of your budget which could include several thousand dollars at D3 was a HUGE advantage.

How about conf cash bonus gets added to scouting budget? It won't help D1 much but thatd be a nice perk at D3 and it wouldn't break the game by any means. Still no carryover tho.

I'm sure you have as much proof to support your opinion as I do to support mine. benis did a population comparison about 6-8 weeks ago from 6/2016 to 4/2017. IIRC, there were 600 less schools manned by humans and around half were D1. We don't know how many people left but I'd wager almost all had multiple teams. Couple that with the fact that many still active users have stated "I cut back from 5 to 1" and the like and it's quite reasonable to believe the user base hasn't changed much.

In short, I believe to not even consider that there are a similar number of users is short-sighted, ridiculous and used to fit your preferred narrative.

I just would like WIS to explain their plans. What are you planning to do to improve the game or the experience?
And when?

Getting rid of conference cash was a good thing. If conference cash were put back in I would quit. Strong conference preference still benefits deep conferences. I lose enough battles because of this preference to know it is effective. FYI I am also In some deep conferences with quality coaches so I would benefit. I experienced both sides of conference cash and it is not good for the game.

One change that might be good for the game and pretty simple would be to change the parameters for the "Wants Rebuild" preference. Besides Sims and people ghosting their teams does anyone get this preference for more than your first season at a school? Maybe change the parameters to include anyone who has not made the NT in 3 straight seasons. Also maybe include anyone at a school for less than 3 seasons. Just a thought on helping those stuck in the middle ground or new to a school.
Definitely need to tweak the "Success" preference. I like the 3 season idea, it's weird to take over a team that has had moderate success and know you're going to change the offense and defense and not have it say you're rebuilding.

A small change that I always thought would be nice is on the 'team rankings' page, walkons were excluded from the team averages. I like to compare my team to all others but you really don't get a good read unless everyone had the same number of scholarship players.
like this - at least a toggle that gives you data without walkons

Woah! An actual good idea in this thread. Big fan of this.

Usually Benis' ideas are pretty nice.

This would be a great idea. I fully support this.

Be careful, this kind of speak gets you labeled a whiner. The correct response is it's working as intended, therefore no improvement is needed.

A simple fix that I'd like to see -- change the timing of the grade reports to run AFTER recruiting actions process rather than before. I am constantly missing the final grades report to remind me that its okay to zero out my study hall minutes for the remainder of the season because it processes first and then gets buried 60-120 seconds later by a bunch of fluff emails of "i'm ready for a scholarship offer, I'm ready for a minutes/start offer, I'd be interested in a home visit, etc." recruiting emails. It wouldn't be so big a deal, but it processes on precisely the cycle where the bulk of those emails are generated for primary targets that people have been after from the start of Session 1.

Barring that, how about we just have a setting so that recruits don't generate the emails? It's not like I read or click on them other than the SAT result ones, and that's only because it's the most efficient way to get to the player card to remove the note I made about the kid's ineligible status. If I want to find out if a kid I'm targeting is ready for some new action, I look at the recruiting section of the player card.

[ETA -- Another minor addition -- how about a column in the recruiting tab somewhere that lists the number of teams a potential recruit has been targeted by? When looking for backup options, it sure would be nice if I could see that Player X hasn't been contacted yet rather than having to open and click on each name/card/considering tab...]

Adding conference cash back in is an awful idea. The game doesn't need to go back to hacks and cheats and secret handshakes. The incentive to play in a tough conference is good RPI and tournament seeding, and the subsequent prestige boost, provided you can stay afloat. That's how it is in real life, that's how it should be in the simulation. If you need more "incentives", you're looking for something that a simulation is not and should not be designed to provide.
