When they get angry, what is the chance they leave after the year?

went down from 53 WE to 5 WE

I heard you can just not play him and then redshirt him like the last game of the year, so that way you can reap the rewards in-season with his 50+ WE. His WE will still go down a few points, but it's still better than a WE of 5.

However, with this strategy, you run the risk of him getting into the game, especially if you end up getting a lot of foul outs.

Thanks. You're a legend.

Good call. That's a clever move.

If you leave the guy off the depth chart completely is there still a chance he could get in a game?

Only when you run out of people on the depth chart (fouls/injuries).

Ive redshirted a senior before and had his WE drop similarly, he didnt leave the next season and I cant ever think of a reason why a redshirted senior would leave....

I've never had one leave.

While WIS is busy making all the other fixes mentioned in the forums, they should address this. Most of not all of these guys should transfer.

Wis isn't making fixes...

Thanks for the feedback all!

Or graduate and unexpectedly not return at the beginning of the next season.

Does this work for freshmen well? I have a freshman I want to redshirt but I promised him 10 mins a game. I'm guessing he'll transfer anyway if he doesn't get the 10 mins a game.

You can't redshirt him in any way shape or form. However, I love sophomore redshirts. I've done 4 and couldn't be happier with the results. I promised a start or minutes the first year to all of them.

You can always experiment to see their reactions to the redshirt and then restore eligibility afterwards. If you promised him minutes, he will be irate but it's always fun to read the messages.

This is a good idea. I'll still have a year to develop him this way. My problem is I have a recruiting class of 6 players. No way I can play all of them 4 years straight.
