IT'S OVER! TRUMP IS TOAST! I just read it here briefly and heard it on CNN. First things first.

I apologize to all my leftist friends for calling CNN FAKE NEWS. I've put in over 42 hours at work in the last 3 days, so I've been very busy, but from what I can gleam from glancing over this thread and what I just heard on CNN, Trump should be out of office by Monday. Apparently he's stone guilty of obstructing justice. Something about Comey and his testimony. I'll look more into it later after I've gotten some sleep. Suffice to say, I've been through this before. It was called Watergate. You might not have been there so let me tell you what happens next.

Once guilt has been proven, as stated by CNN and some others here and there, justice moves swiftly. This will be over before July rolls around. That's how quickly impeachment works.

By now the democrats have demanded Trumps resignation, by Monday at the latest. Impeachment proceedings are already underway just in case Trump is defiant and decides to go down swinging. Doubtful since we all and CNN know he is guilty beyond a doubt and every judge in the world would find him guilty at this point. They also have the votes in the House and Senate. Just like when the tapes were released in Watergate. McCain and possibly 10 or more senators are with the Dems and the house has 50 never Trumpers and more moderates than you can shake a stick at.

Should Trump not have given his speech by Monday, he will have been removed against his will before the end of the month. That is why I think he will resign Monday.

I must admit I'm in a state of shock. I can't bring myself to watch the news. I'm do depressed. I'll never watch FOX again. From now on I'm a CNN guy, after I get over my depression in a few months. I'll also be registering as a Democrat shortly.

Oncer again, I'm sorry for doubting you good people on the left and I apologize again for calling CNN FAKE NEWS.

Please keep posting so I know what is going on for the next few weeks. Like I said, I'm so depressed, I can't bring myself to watch the news.

Now, Democrat Alan Dershowitz is coming to Trump's defense in an op-ed for Fox News and arguing the left must stop conflating the issue of Russian meddling with criminal wrong doing by the President. Further, he argues the claims of obstruction of justice are completely unwarranted.

In his testimony former FBI director James Comey echoed a view that I alone have been expressing for several weeks, and that has been attacked by nearly every Democratic pundit.

Comey confirmed that under our Constitution, the president has the authority to direct the FBI to stop investigating any individual. I paraphrase, because the transcript is not yet available: the president can, in theory, decide who to investigate, who to stop investigating, who to prosecute and who not to prosecute. The president is the head of the unified executive branch of government, and the Justice Department and the FBI work under him and he may order them to do what he wishes.

As a matter of law, Comey is 100 percent correct. As I have long argued, and as Comey confirmed in his written statement, our history shows that many presidents—from Adams to Jefferson, to Lincoln, to Roosevelt, to Kennedy, to Bush 1, and to Obama – have directed the Justice Department with regard to ongoing investigations. The history is clear, the precedents are clear, the constitutional structure is clear, and common sense is clear.
Yet virtually every Democratic pundit, in their haste to “get” President Trump, has willfully ignored these realities. In doing so they have endangered our civil liberties and constitutional rights.

Now that even former Director Comey has acknowledged that the Constitution would permit the president to direct the Justice Department and the FBI in this matter, let us put the issue of obstruction of justice behind us once and for all and focus on the political, moral, and other non-criminal aspects of President T

I write this short op-ed as Comey finishes his testimony. I think it is important to put to rest the notion that there was anything criminal about the president exercising his constitutional power to fire Comey and to request – “hope” – that he let go the investigation of General Flynn. Just as the president would have had the constitutional power to pardon Flynn and thus end the criminal investigation of him, he certainly had the authority to request the director of the FBI to end his investigation of Flynn.

So let’s move on and learn all the facts regarding the Russian efforts to intrude on American elections without that investigation being impeded by frivolous efforts to accuse President Trump of committing a crime by exercising his constitutional authority.rump’s conduct.

And we don't have to wait for tapes. We don't need them. Every judge from the beginning of time says Trump is guilty of Obstruction.

Turley was of the same opinion as Dershowitz on the obstruction claim. Thin soup he said.

Trump could legally pardon Flynn. He could have the investigation halted. He did ask Comey to perhaps give the guy a break, a guy Trump had already shown the door. I see it as inappropriate. Not a hanging offense. CNN disagrees. I'm good with that. They have become insignificant. They no longer make any attempt to put forth a centrist view. Viewership has not surprisingly gone bye bye...

Trump says he never said that and wants to testify under oath that he didnt. We will see who is telling the truth under oath.

Well....CNN says he's guilty of obstruction. They also say every judge from before time and to the present and into the future forever and eVar would convict him.

So either it's over and the democrats have started the impeachment proceedings and we have a new President in a matter of days or weeks, OR Trump did not obstruct justice. CNN would not lie. I don't think they and the New York Times are fake anymore because Trump will no longer be President in a few days.

You can argue then if you want to, but according to your friends here in this thread, he's guilty so there is no reason for him to be here come July.

If Trump is still President come July, then we'll have to rethink this. I'm pretty sure he'll be gone in a matter of hours. CNN is not FAKE!

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump ******* out before testifying. He's posturing now. If he said it, and it's on tape as evidence, he damn sure won't testify. Would you?
