The Religious Right doesn't believe in any of those definitions of "liberty", you are correct sir. That's WHY THEY are the problem.
They're trying to subvert the constitution and use plurality democracy to insist that EVERYBODY (all beliefs!, and non believers, too!) MUST abide by THEIR interpretation of morality and they're attempting to take away constitutionally guaranteed FREEDOMS from others whom they fear (for a variety of reasons)!! They want all to believe THEIR way!... in THEIR GOD. They're religious fanatics. Self declared!
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, remember?
Why some fear (for just one example) gay people being aloud to marry is beyond me. It would seem that commitment would be desired.
Also, they can't breed (without help!) so what's the big deal?......... they can't spread gayness through some sort of weird genealogy beliefs.
It's just another example of why fanaticism MUST be condemned and not tolerated. From any religious nut! Every persuasion.
Not understanding what the basic freedoms (freedom of religion!) guaranteed ALL under our Constitution just reveals the underlying problem that the religious right and their cohorts have................
It's called ignorance--------------- but willful ignorance I believe I'm free to call what it is.
Stupidity!

Do you realize that this also describes the liberal left in this country to a T?
Let's compare the left and the right on gay marriage, since that's an example laramie uses.
The left says let the gays get married, it doesn't hurt anyone else.
The right says no way, that's against my religion.
Who's insisting that someone else live by their morality here?
Don't get hung up on the word "morality". Change it to "beliefs" or whatever works for you.
The left insists there's nothing wrong with gay marriage. The right has a problem with gay marriage, for whatever reasons they may have (religious or non-religious). The left pushes their agenda through the political process until gay marriage becomes law.
Who's pushed their beliefs upon others?
Are people who are against gay marriage being forced to get gay married?
Is anyone against gun ownership forced to buy a gun?
Is anyone forced to gaze at a manger scene in front of Wal-Mart?
Is anyone forced to wear a Trump shirt because some HS kid did in his yearbook photo?
