Does anyone know what the criteria for that are?

The only thing I can think of is that I have shown some improvement over last season but still....

That's not it. I improved every season at WCSU and got Very Good for 2-3 seasons.

Success is different at D1 vs D2/D3. Its very easy to get Very Good for rebuild at D3. I'm not sure its possible to get it at D1.

I agree with this post. WIS needs better rules for this logic. I think this is one preference that they have left as a coin flip. An 0-27 team may not be a rebuild based on Conference baseline, and a 20 win team is a rebuild based on same. TOO much confusion.

I had the same issue, my VT team had won 18 games in 4 years and it was still a nuetral.

You lost 90 games in 4 seasons? How is that even possible?

Sims aren't very good coaches. Shocking, I know.

Mike deleted a post? That's something new.

It happens. I was making fun of whinyturtl but did no fact-check. When he said "my VT team", I assumed it was a team under his control while going 18-90. Your post indicates that it was the SIMAI. Sort of sucks the funny out of it.

At neutral, you're getting more modifying credit than most D1 - certainly most Big 6 D1. Lower division teams will get a better rebuild modifier, but that will be more than wiped out by the prestige modifier across divisions if they battle with you.

Yeah it was when I picked it up, and it was a total rebuild, but the game didn't think so.

Since it's not working properly, it defeats the entire purpose of having a Wants Rebuild preference.

It works properly. At D1, you don't need to have very good, or even good, to get the advantage. If D+ Auburn battles B+ Tennessee, TJs wants rebuild neutral preference is a notch in his favor, because Tennessee is going to be bad at best, likely very bad. It doesn't make up for the prestige discrepancy, but it mitigates it, and could be the difference between his equal effort getting him in signing range, or not. None of the preferences were ever meant to replace prestige, especially on their own.
