Trump: Worst President Ever? Topic

You alway have the choice with what people you will surround yourself. If you chose to fraternize with racists or fascists, you made a bad decision and can't argue with being called a bad person. The guy (assuming he spoke the truth) should have looked for a different way of making his statement.

Lots of people were at the BLM protest where some of them were chanting " Pigs in a Banket, Fry 'em like Bacon" .... That's a hateful thing to say.... Does that mean EVERYONE in attendance is a bad person?

Fine people in a crowd of fascists and racists?

That there are people that still defend Trump after his remarks about Charlottesville is beyond me.

If he needs some help, counseling, whatever in finding the right words he should listen to some of his republican friends:

We must be clear. White supremacy is repulsive. This bigotry is counter to all this country stands for. There can be no moral ambiguity.

— Paul Ryan (@SpeakerRyan) 15. August 2017

This is simple: we must condemn and marginalize white supremacist groups, not encourage and embolden them.

— Senator Todd Young (@SenToddYoung) 15. August 2017

Mr. President, you can't allow #WhiteSupremacists to share only part of blame. They support idea which cost nation & world so much pain 5/6

— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) 15. August 2017
Trump handled it terribly. But there is no way that there weren't people there who were not white supremacists.

For the exact same reason everyone protesting in Ferguson, MO weren't criminals. They were SURROUNDED by people looting, destroying property, stealing, etc, etc, but they stayed on the streets.

Are you going to put EVERYONE on the streets in Ferguson in the same category?

I think protesting/counter-protesting is stupid. But everyone who does it isn't doing it for the same reasons.

What if you surround yourself with adulterers and druggies? What about petty thieves and liars? Who (besides all the Liberals on this site) gets to judge where "bad" starts?

Notice how I posted a chant many many times here that was being chanted the very next day in Durham NC while a public statue was turn down.... "No Cops, No KKK, No Fascist USA"

Not one person, not even one person here has run to the defense of cops to condone this hate speech. Where's the moral outrage? Where's the media?

This is Trump's point. There's hate speech EVERYWHERE of all kinds and we shouldn't be deciding which hate speech is worse than the other... It's all bad! All of it is the problem.

Do you disagree?

In the end it's not about the 'handling' of a situation, it's about if you are willing to speak out against the foes of democracy or not.

I'm friends with a lot of people, from all different aspects of my life . . . work, my golf league, people I've coached baseball with, parents of my kids classmates/friends, people I went to school with, etc.

I can't say with any honesty that I know with 100% accuracy the personal ideologies, political and/or social affiliations, etc. of EVERYBODY I consider to be a friend. The close ones, yes. The casual ones . . . of course not. Nobody can.

Neither can you.

You probably need to take a step of two down from the pedestal you're putting yourself on. I would bet that some of your "casual" friends might surprise you with if they fully exposed their inner thoughts and feelings to you about social issues.

Anyone who goes to a rally with clubs and shields with intent to silence free speech is a foe of democracy, no?

We are discussing the events in Charlottesville. Do those chants change our evaluation of these events? Those chants in Durham (true or not) won't make any better what those racists did in Charlottesville.

Only if that free speech disagrees with the Liberal agenda.
Let violent mobs attack lawfully-rallying KKK members, but keep every objector away from a LGBT rally.
EVERYONE has the same right to legally assemble for what THEY believe, and NOBODY has the right to intervene with violence.
Seems like currently there is a lot more hate and violence coming from the extremists who say those things need to end. Hypocrites looking like idiots and hurting their own cause.
