HD timetable is a problem Topic

Where do you come up with all these analogies?

I have an idea. First time users can ONLY apply for a New Tutorial World (heck give them two abbreviated seasons of six games and then maybe a four team mini tourney free ). It takes each step along the way and explains with handy helps and bullet messages. Same timetable order as the normal worlds, but slower. If after two cycles of assisted play they decide they enjoy the game, then charge them a discounted price on a single season in a regular world....just make sure they are warned the pace is greater. Then have a few mentor coaches available for any question these newbies might have.

What could it hurt. I have used the "sample" play options several times when considering the Sim and HBD leagues.

I don't think anyone would call that collusion today. Its exactly the kind of behavior that should be encouraged. I've done it many times but 50% of the time I get crickets in response.. guess they know me or something
I help every time I am asked, and do not even care about the collusion subject. The more help we give new players, the better this platform becomes.

"1. Take the top (pick a number) of D2 Sop and Juniors and have them leave their D2 school to 'explore other options'. These players would be eligible to be recruited by everyone only in the second cycle. Team they leave gets a boost similar to an EE and resources. They declare at same time as EEs. "

I think this is an interesting concept and a good idea.
I love this, but why limit it to only D2? I have a D3 team that routinely runs into 750 plus rated SO and JR's. D2 and D3 should both have this. Same as EE's for D1 programs, and would be a great risk/reward problem for D3 Coaches to endure. Real easy for lower level Coaches to make fun of EE's leaving and the forum ranting's of Coaches that lose multiple D1 EE every season.

If you're not playing, or have no reason to check in, there's nothing to enjoy.

I like steak. But, if I was told I could have steak 4 1/2 days a week and nothing 2 1/2 days of the week or I could have anything I wanted except steak whenever I wanted, I'd stop eating steak.

Lousy analogy. You cannot compare eating (a need) versus a game( a want). Perhaps you are not enjoying the people in your Conference too much. I check in on the tournaments to see how my Conference Mates are doing. But having said that, I would like a practice mode or a three on three mode that you could try different play styles or defenses out "inter squad style" to help wile away the down time.

Yup, D3 too.

Incorrect. Really, really incorrect. For the 77th time, it's not about me. Or you. Or anyone posting in this thread.

The idea of games is to get people to WANT to play them. No one WANTS to NOT play a game. Or, if they do, the simply DON'T play it. Which is my point. When you have no reason to check in for 7-8 days at a time, it's easy to just find something else to do.

HD has the NT and PIT (roughly mirroring the NCAA and NIT tournaments). But right now in college basketball, there are at least two others (CBI, College Insider). They are generally meaningless (no one cares who wins the CBI), but they exist so teams can play in more games. So lets use that model.

Create the Collegiate Insider Tournament (CIT), a 64-team postseason tournament that features the best 64 human coached D3 teams that did not make the NT or PI (if there aren't 64 human coached teams left, take all of the human coaches and add in the best remaining SIM teams). It will get coaches checking in during the tournament and allow them to be engaged. And if a rookie coach of a 6-21 team wins the CIT, they will feel like they accomplished something. It is the participation trophy of HD.

Seriously good idea.

I would like it where there were no games simulated on the weekends. I have so many ladies I have to entertain, I find it difficult to find time to game plan for WIS.

And I am so old I want ALL the games Friday and Saturday because I don't even remember those days!
