I have faith in America. I think your government can do health care at least as well as Europe, Canada, Australia, etc. But you're right, it wouldn't be simple or easy.

in 1960 we were promised the moon......doc i still think things are far better post obamacare then pre for the vast majority....bernie did say that there would be a tax increase for universal healthcare......i think that is very reasonable.
Kennedy aimed for the moon. It was a bold move, considering how far from reality it was when he said it. Our space program was in its infancy. Kudos to him for getting us geared up for it.

Yes it is good to have goals. And a plan on how to do it. As they say, the proof is in the pudding...

A tax increase, but how much? California has no way to budget single payer. You can't get blood out of a turnip.

I can't afford to pay twice in taxes what I pay now. Most Americans are in the same boat. Bernie somehow sees the wealthy footing the bill. What escapes him is that there aren't enough wealthy people to pay for his big plans. The math just doesn't add up. It is unrealistic. That's why I just roll my eyes when he talks about policy. He has no grasp of reality. He doesn't own a magic wand...

All 2016 presidential candidates were given evaluations on how their policies would affect our economy. His would have reduced our GDP by 10%. That is staggering. That would have been millions of jobs lost. But he figured the wealthy would just write a check. Stone cold **** nuts...

Good list. I'm a big fan of 1-3-5-7-10, and especially like that you chose those two Dylan albums over Blonde on Blonde which (like Stones' Exile) I always found a tad overrated. I would have maybe included Astral Weeks by Van Morrison and something by The Kinks or Zombies...

interesting responses.....some of my top alternatives were astral weeks.........someting by the kinks........the moody blues days of future past.......the elvis tv show comeback.......and last but not least the band.

the zombies are so underated.

Being born in '62 I was a bit young for the era. But my aunt had me listening to The Beatles and Jethro Tull at an early age...

you have a great aunt....... but.what did she have against the stones.......there are a lot of great tull albums... all very quirky... i always liked a passion play...not the best...just liked it.

the 60s was so special because the musicians had such great backgrounds...they grew up having learned jazz and classical music...country......blues.......standards.......they had so much to draw on...........
9/13/2017 11:18 PM
Oh nothing against Mick and the Boys.

Animals' It's My Life is still one of my favorite songs. Teacher from Jethro Tull never gets old...Skating Away clears my head...works like a delete button...

I still have several Tull albums on vinyl. Benefit, Songs from the Wood, Aqualung, Thick as a Brick...can you believe Yes's Steve Howe was turned down after auditioning with Ian Anderson?

His play clearly shows Clapton was heavily influenced by the blues. He isn't everyone's favorite, but he is the only musician inducted 3 times...

Duane Allman was on his way to becoming one of the all time best guitarists...the Fillmore East album is a must listen...
