Trump: Worst President Ever? Topic

Anyone else think it's ironic that the guy who campaigned on an anti-political correctness, anti-safe space platform, who bragged about sexually assaulting women, who made fun of a disabled reporter, and who insulted every person running against him is now upset that someone else is doing something that offends him and wants that person punished?
Yes, there is plenty of irony in the world...as I have said before, Trump didn't get elected by being confused with Sir Galahad. Penitent man he ain't. ..to many he was the better of 2 lousy choices...

Listen, I am without a doubt one of the biggest Cub fans going and I want to tell you I am sick to the point of nausea over the 7th inning stretch bs at Wrigley Field. This is done to honor Harry Cary who was the WORST broadcaster ever. Lets be done with it. It is bad enough that walk up music now consists hip hop or rap crap. If I wanted music I would go to a concert at the opera house. Not that I am under the confused notion that hip hop and rap is music

NFL ratings were dropping before Trump opened his yapper...player conduct went south a few years ago...Fox and NBC are seeing double digit falloff. That's significant...a lot of people are turned off, and tuning out.

NFL will only benefit from this.

Kaepernick hasn't done himself any favors, career wise, with the protests and ongoing media circus..
I think he knew that going in. He deserves credit for going through with the protest while knowing it could (and probably would) cost him personally.

However early returns seem to indicate that the controversy yesterday actually caused ratings to go up a few points

Total week 3 ratings for all networks combined are up over last year.

To me Harry will always be a StLouis guy and the Cubs and Cardinals are rivals so this honor is insane. Lets honor Jack Brickhouse who was the voice of the Cubs when I was growing up

Perhaps you missed the video link...Harry was a lush. He used to get hammered in the booth. But he was a helluva Bud salesman.

I don't know if the article shows all the sides of the issue very well.

I disagree. They are stuck in a lose lose scenario....

They have to either stand behind their employees because they invest so much in them or they have to appease their stakeholders.

With declining viewership already they are in a tight spot... I doubt 'politics in the NFL' will get MORE people who don't already watch football to start paying to watch games however polling suggests it is getting more people to stop watching the game. Most people watch sports, go to movies, concerts, and theater to get away from things like politics, not to see more of it.

According to a recent survey from J.D. Power, national anthem protests that originated with Colin Kaepernick led a list of reasons people tuned out of NFL games last season. The poll consisted of 9,200 people who attended a football, basketball or hockey game, and asked them if they tuned into fewer games and why.

Per the poll, 26 percent of viewers cited the protests as the reason. Coming in second, 24 percent said that it was because of the league's off-field image issues, such as domestic abuse, and general game delays, such as penalties. Twenty percent said that it was because of excessive commercials, and 16 percent said they tuned out because of the presidential election.
