This is why school choice is so important. The ability to go to a neighboring public school district or a tax voucher for a private school is crucial. I understand the shortcomings of this that the left presents, such as even fewer resources for the remaining students and a lack of transportation for the low income families, but I don't see many other options to allow kids to go to good schools whose families can't afford to pack up and move to better school districts.
once again, the real problems are two-fold and neither have to do with public education. Social welfare has to be reigned in and men need to step up and take responsibility and raise and provide for their kids.
How do low income families get resources? Through education and welfare programs, ideally.
Education, yes. Welfare, definitely not. Employment opportunity is a much better option. This is the one area that I think Trump will do a phenomenal job: creating an economic environment that promotes job growth.
once again, welfare deincentivizes ambition.
The problem with any social program is that it promotes laziness. This is why socialism, while great in theory, doesn't work. A teacher at the HS that I attended ran an experiment with one of his classes. He took the class average on the first test and gave everyone in the class the same grade. The class average was a "B". He did the same with the second. The class average was a "c". By the third test, the class average was a "F". The achievers had gotten tired of carrying the bottom half, so they quit working hard. Society works the same way.
