The highest number of regular seasons wins to not advance to round 2 was 543 by cstrohmier in 2013. His six teams won 90, 91, 84, 89, 101, 88 games. Only 2 of his teams made the playoffs and he totaled only 22 bonus points. 2013 was also the year with the highest round 2 cutoff at 578 points. shaybee finished 25th that year with 574 points.

One correction here - bigmc is still alive. Winning the WS with his remaining team would net him 562 points

I thought fatigue was supposed to hurt hitting. I'm facing a lineup with hitters in the 80s who are producing pretty well.

Bill Bernhard throws a no-hitter in Game 3 of the WS for the *Baker Bowl Phillies (1897-1906) to push Total Points to 563 and lock us into Round 2 by my calculations. My favorite team EVER!! gets us over the finish line.

As is my custom, I never check the Round 2 themes until I am either locked into or locked out of Round 2.

Well, we didn't win either WS so the additional luck was moot. . . . .but I am pretty happy with my performance in this contest for my first go round. Lots of fun and very well run, thanks to all who put in the time and effort to make this tournament a success.
