Playing for less than a medium coffee Topic

As a mediocre owner, stuck in D1 rebuilds, I am currently playing a season for less than the price of a medium coffee. If I was to play D2 only, which I am considering, I would probably not pay anything.

How much are you paying?

More than you! I think I pay about $6 a season.

I just had a string of 6 seasons where I earned $60 and I feel I can replicate that in the future. Just took 2 new teams so that will make me pay about $40 for my next ten-set.

Probably making a little money at the moment..

Got enough reward points to get four $25 amazon cards. I currently have $55 in credits with all four teams renewed through next season. So depending on NT success this season, I might have enough to buy another 10 pack without dipping into the reward points.

I am paying about $6.00 to $7.00 per season depending on how well recruiting goes during any given 10 pack buy. Just like zorzil, I am using the lower divisions to pay to play (not very well) at D1.

In the past 2 years I have played 133 seasons for $740.85, or $5.57 per season. I have not paid a penny since April 2017 when I went to my 1st NC game and expanded to 10 teams. I currently have 14 seasons "paid for" and 85.95 in cash credits plus some award points. I have 6 D1 teams that are financed by 2 D2 teams and 2 D3 teams. I seem to earn more money in D2. Unless the rules change I don't expect to ever again pay out of pocket. If I can't develop the D1's into money makers I'll drop some back to D2.

I just looked up my last season on each of my eight teams. I had:

1- Final Four
2- Sweet Sixteen
1- Second Round
2- First Round
2- No NT appearance

That's $51 in credits so I guess I should be paying like $3.50 a season.

How much is a "medium" coffee? I have one team that is covering a good chunk of the cost for the other three. As long as you devote time to one program and make it elite, HD is a very affordable hobby.

13 seasons, $112.80 out of pocket, 1 season credit and $18.05 in the bank.

Assuming zero credits from this day forward, $7.52 per season and $5.10 left over.

Fast food meal per season?

My Knight D3 team has been carrying me. My last 6 seasons were: FF, E8, Title Game, 1st Rnd, Title Game, S16.

The odd thing is that when you get to the title game you get "Reward Points" instead of game credits. I've been using those Reward Points to support my GD habit, so I guess it works out, but it throws a monkey wrench in the calculation for me.

Overall with $290.75, I've played 30 HD seasons, have 5 in the bank plus sitting on $41 in credits. So without the Reward Points that went to GD (which is pretty significant), I'm running about $7.14 per season. Pretty good value in my mind.

have not paid since 3.0 launched - thinking about whether willing to pay as odds grow that I may have to increase

I've been fortunate and haven't had to pay in nearly three years. I've taken on some rebuilds lately and am running out credits. Once I'm totally out I'll need to figure out if I want to pony up some cash for a 3.0 game I just don't care for.
