As usual, it's left to Trump to be the voice of reason.

In a series of midmorning Twitter posts, Mr. Trump said Republicans were now pushing back against the Russia allegations by looking into Mrs. Clinton. But the president, who has often expressed anger that his allies were not doing more to protect him from the Russia inquiries, made it clear he believed that Mrs. Clinton should be pursued more forcefully, writing, “DO SOMETHING!”

He did not specify who should take such action, though critics have accused him of trying to improperly sway the inquiries.

[...]

“This was the Democrats coming up with an excuse for losing an election,” Mr. Trump told reporters last week. “They lost it by a lot. They didn’t know what to say, so they made up the whole Russia hoax. Now it’s turning out that the hoax has turned around, and you look at what’s happened with Russia, and you look at the uranium deal, and you look at the fake dossier. So that’s all turned around.”

So that's all turned around!

I know I say this a lot, but Trump really reminds me of my former mayor, Rob Ford.

The swamp draining begins!

Earlier this week, we learned that a two-year-old company that had two full-time employees the day Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico was awarded a $300 million contract to rebuild the island’s electrical grid. Whitefish Energy seemed like an odd choice, given that its biggest project to date was a $1.3 million deal to “replace and upgrade parts of a 4.8-mile transmission line in Arizona,” for which it was given 11 months to complete. (As a point of comparison, there are 2,400 miles of transmission lines spread across Puerto Rico.) In addition to its lack of experience, the amount of money Whitefish has convinced Puerto Rico—which is bankrupt—to fork over has raised eyebrows; only eight contracts for more than $20 million have been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Army Corp of Engineers, with half of those going toward shipments of food and bottled water.

The fact that Whitefish happens to be based in the hometown of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who knows Whitefish owner Andy Techmanski, and whose son worked a summer job at one of Techmanski’s construction sites, has added yet another layer of intrigue to the situation. And now, just a day after Whitefish told people to quit their “carping,” several officials, both in Congress and in Puerto Rico, are asking questions about the unusual arrangement.

Puerto Rico Cancels Whitefish Energy Contract to Rebuild Power Grid

As the recovery plods forward, a small company from Montana that was awarded a contract of up to $300 million to rebuild part of the island’s electrical infrastructure has come under intense scrutiny.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Friday expressed “significant concerns” about how the company, Whitefish Energy, won the contract.

On Sunday, the future of the contract took yet another twist when Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said he was asking the board of the island’s power authority to “immediately” cancel its contract with Whitefish, which is based in the hometown of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke. Later in the day, the power authority said it had done so.

if it is someone other then flynn or manafort that would be extremely interesting...that would be way under the radar...it is still only a grand hury indictment...that doesnt ensure a future conviction.
Manafort seems to be the favorite, if you go by what the media "experts" are saying. It makes sense, I guess.

There Was No Reason To Hire Manafort Except to Collude with Russia

Manafort was a terrible choice for campaign manager, both in terms of competence and optics. It was neither a pick designed to buoy his populist credentials, nor was it a sop to the GOP establishment that Trump desperately needed at the time. The only thing Manafort had in his favor was his close ties to Putin, and there is no conceivable reason to have hired him except to leverage those ties.

If Manafort is indeed the primary target of Mueller’s probe, it’s a guarantee that the Trump campaign absolutely intended to collude closely with Russia as a longshot path to a difficult election.

Which means that one of two things is true: either Donald Trump was not closely involved in hiring his campaign manager or the rationale for it, or he directly intended to use Russian interference to win.

This would be a good time to remember that Trump’s last press conference of the campaign was the one in July 2016, in which he begged Russia to find the rest of the Clinton’s emails.

He did it. He knows he did it. And so do all his enablers in the Republican Party and the conservative media.

ive always thought it was the only reason.....he knows the people.....he knows the players....there was no other sensibility to it....russia had 3 objectives.....1. stop the sanctions.....2. crush Hilary......putin hates her.......3. cause chaos here and.humiliate the united states by eventually rubbing what russia did in their face.....if the sanctions are not lifted they are happy with the chaos being caused and the inferior united states they have helped create.

bump stock bums stop ban.

The Manafort arrest is the big news today, but more damaging to Trump might be George Papadopoulos.
10/30/2017 12:56 PM
that is correct, sir....it is all about collusion and he is fully cooperating and mueller is very happy with him..
10/30/2017 12:58 PM
mueller is now insulated from being fired......because he is too deep into getting to the bottom of things with 2 indictments and one guilty plea.
10/30/2017 1:01 PM
i believe that the news today shows that mueller is going up the chain.......if that is so it means to me that he is going after trump....not that it hasnt always been obvious but it is now being played out......fake news is starting to be re-defined as bad news.......

What if Trump gives everyone arrested "preemptive pardons" (or whatever they're called)? Would that keep him safe? I have no idea what sorts of legal tricks are available to presidents.

In other news, FBI Is Probing Puerto Rico Power Contract. Trump's team is sure keeping investigators busy!
