im a year behind........imalmost finished with 1986.........wylie...your list is great.....but i believe chris isaak is 1986......his album is in my 1986 list of top 10.....i havnt figured out the rankings.......then i will do 87.

i believe cloud 9 will be on my top 10 list...i think your 2 favorites of 87 were springsteen and lyle lovett.

I really liked the Lyle Lovett and George Harrison releases in 1987. Also:

Tom Waits' "Frank Wild Years"
Grateful Dead's "In the Dark"
Billy Bragg's "Back to Basics"
Jennifer Warnes' "Famous Blue Raincoat" (album of Leonard Cohen covers)
Sinead O'Connor's first album "The Lion and the Cobra" (the girl had some pipes!)

looks like i have my work cut out for me in putting together an 87 list.
sinead is so talented...such a voice......you can only hope the best for her.

I guess you're right. The Isaak album was released in December of 1986.

it was between lovett and john hiatt for my guess.
