Cutting EE's Glitch... Topic

The glitch that involves cutting EE's, but then the EE doesn't go pro... can this be explained and discussed so we can understand it better? The other thread that mentions this is a mess.

Look at this thread for the first discussion which didn't devolve like the other one.

There, the coach cut his EE very late (near the end of RS2) and he reappeared somehow on a high end D1 team as a freshman (signed by the SIM!) with his ratings/IQ intact. Multiple people put in a ticket back then but I guess WIS didn't do anything to prevent the cutting of EEs (maybe they fixed something with them reappearing as a FR). In this instance, the coach likely cut him sometime after the NCG but before RS2 actually started so he still ended up becoming a high end SR transfer (i.e. left as a JR EE).

So if everyone that had an EE cut their guy then that would take maybe 20 or 30 guys off the board and put them in the recruiting market. Then we would all have a shot at recruiting those guys from other teams to fill our original EE, this may be a way to force WIS to at least look at the current EE situation and decide if they feel it’s what they want. Plus how fun would it be to see where the dominoes fall on these ready made NBA players. The chaos and “strategerory” would be epic. Do you save resources solely to get a guy during the second session? Who do you jump into a battle with when they all will likely have 4 or 5 teams going all in on? Sounds fun to me!!!!

Even if you could convince every single coach who got an EE to do this, there are significant risks involved.

1. Cutting a player you recruited carries a slight risk that additional players bolt from your roster in protest.
2. You won't get any bonus prestige for having a player drafted.
3. Those with multiple EEs likely will not get similar recruits back even with these EE transfers back onto the market in RS2.

The easiest thing for WIS to do is to prevent the cutting of EEs in the first place (similar to how you can't cut SRs from your roster by making it NOT an option). There has to be a better solution to the EE issue than coaches doing stupid things to force their hand.

Buddha: I was under the impression people could not be cut until the start of RS2...

Sounds awesome. Just swap the EEs in crazy battles. Love it.

another example of why it is bad to allow in 3.0 two teams in DI in a world - even with the old 1000 mile limit. Should no longer allow two teams in a world given the 3.0 changes - and this one is another way it could be abused.

Clarification of buddha's comment, I did cut him well after RS2 started and, not having been aware of the previous time it had been done (and that a solution was promised by WIS at that time) I was just "testing the waters" to see what would happen. Never thought to look for him myself after I cut him. Solution (hopefully for this time only with a permanent fix coming soon) was for Snyder to go to the Golden State Warriors, with my team getting credit for him as an NBA draftee AND he will be playing for buddha at UCLA as a senior this season. I definitely didn't expect him to be available to anyone after he was cut (he had already declared for the NBA, sent me the letter, and I had received AP and money for RS2 because he was gone. I certainly wouldn't have cut him if I knew buddha would get him since I'm playing him in my NC schedule and he beat me by double digits in the previous NC with Snyder (910 points) on my team not his.

Steve, at what point did you cut him? I'm assuming it wasn't when Rescind became available but it was some time between when AP could be assigned (start of RS2) and prior to the first RS2 cycle processing (which is 9 hours later).

buddha, I can't really remember but I believe it was well after RS2 was in progress and after the first RS2 cycle had taken place, but I couldn't swear to that timing.

That kind of doesn't make any sense since I put in 40 AP which appeared after the first cycle so it would of had to been before the first cycle AP processed.
