Take thewizard's advice with a grain of salt. He and the truth have barely met. Get further confirmation.

Or you can take the advice of a D-3 coach, with no D-1 experience in 3.0, that has won a total of 34 games in the last 3 years at W. Conn St.

I figured you would have mentioned getting bi!ch slapped by a SIM in the 1st round of the NT at Lander. Opportunity lost!!!

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, toolbox. You might have noticed that I didn't offer any advice beyond not trusting your advice and getting other opinions. You know, because you have zero simgame morals and you aren't trustworthy.

I have zero desire to have a spat with you but, if you need me to explain why no one should take your advice without other opinions, I can certainly state them.

I mean he did get a national coach of the year #1 RPI and made it to the NT finals losing with a 31-4 record in 3.0. He is doing something right, tbh I take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt and then from a bunch of grains of salt I form my own opinion on the matter.

Then I guess you don't know the story of HOW he got there. Sitemail me if you care. Again, no desire to rehash it in the forums.

I'm not going to say I didn't care or gameplan but Lander was a stepping stone to D1. Just making the NT was going to make me eligible. Lack of effort might be the best way to describe it. Plus it was a 14 seed human. So there.

Edit: 13 seed human. tissot. So there again.

oh he was the WE guy wasn't he? The one the was the main abuser of the glitch? If that is the case I don't know if I care because WIS hasn't done anything anyways... If WIS don't care then I don't care....

WifS' inaction doesn't mean much. My point is simple....I wouldn't trust a guy at a top program with a history of cheating(and "quitting" several times because the cheating wasn't well-accepted by his peers) telling lesser programs not to chase top players. It may or may not be correct advice but it's coming from a guy who is definitely looking out for #1.

Not caring is kind of dumb if you are heading to DI after this season. The farther you advance the better the jobs you could get. A NC appearance could get you right into a big 6 conference.

(Tissot had left so it looked like a SIM on the schedule.)

I have a very specific first D1 goal. Win a NT game for a school that has never won one. You don't have to look. None are in a B6 conference. They are all ****** teams in ****** conferences.

You gotta know everything before you say "kind of dumb".

Unless, of course, you want to call my goal "kind of dumb." I might not be able to disagree on that.

Back on topic, this is so hard to answer in a vacuum. Are you in a position where you can blow some cash and APs and still get guys who will get you better? Are you willing to take 2 - 3 walk-ons if you don't get this guy and using a bunch of effort costs you other guys as well? Is it worth getting him if he is truly a 5* player who may leave in 2 seasons? Honestly, when I started my recent rebuild at Georgia Tech my goal the first two seasons was to recruit guys who would beat good sim teams on the road and then schedule 10 of them in the non-conference to start to get my prestige up. I think my first two seasons I recruited 9 guys (maybe) and I think two of them had a star. Very much in general, I would probably try to secure (the best you can) guys that will get your prestige up, offer schollies and minutes and starts if you think you need to. Then, if you feel comfortable that your not going to get jumped on those players, or if you are willing to lose them if you do, take your shot at a "stud", but look around (as Benis said) and see what stud you think you can get, and keep in mind a D+ team's stud may look very different than a A+ team's stud.
