So after returning to WIS my first team to start a season was in Allen. I was able to take over a team that was ready to win right away. Div 2 preseason #1 and Tournament Champions. I feel lucky to get to take over a dynasty team, and thrilled to have a national title in my first season back.

I’m pretty sure this team could have won back to back except the team looked neglected when I got it. I’m guessing he got bored.

Welcome back, hopefully you are there with good intentions and don’t pull an AB90.

I’m going to be looking to see what D1 schools are available to me. I now have a D2 title to go along with a D1 title a long time ago at Kansas so I don’t know what that s season will do for me being my previous few seasons aren’t that great before I left. If I can’t get a good D1 school I, going to continue to stay here and try to win some more titles.

I should have a pretty good recruiting class if I stay so I’m not going to try and leave no matter what...

I vaguely remember ab90 but am not certain I remember his details.... Was he the guy who cherry picked winning teams but couldn’t recruit a lick and left the team for dead after 1 or 2 seasons?

Yeah what's the story?

ab90 can recruit fine.

He is unfairly (imo) criticized because he is known for taking over successful programs and maybe for not staying as many seasons as some think he should.

But he dosn't leave the cupboard bare.

There is a coach out there who fits that mo, but I'm not going to get drawn into it.

ab90 is allright by me.

AB can most certainly recruit and most definitely does not leave the cupboard bare. He's a helluva coach if you ask me (and I know no one did). He moves around a bit, yes, but I've no doubt whatsoever that were he to stay in one place he'd have no problem at all winning and winning big. He's one of the best currently playing.

By the way, I saw that you had won that title and was wondering if it was your first season back. Congrats on a job well done!!

And regardless of who recruited the players, Tdiddy still had to coach the team and get the settings, distro, depth chart, etc. correct. I've seen lots of coaches inherit "ready to win" teams and end up shitting the bed because they didn't know what they were doing. Again, congrats, well deserved!!

I'm also an AB defender. Nearly, nearly every team AB takes, he leaves in similar or better condition. On only one occasion I've seen him take a team, get the credits, and not recruit.

Ive seen a coach blow a #1 seed overall, #1 ath, #1 overall rating, 1 RPI, 1-loss (to the 2 RPI in the country) DI team in the Sweet 16 by playing +3 against a team that had one good shooter. Tdiddy had work to do and he did it.

He came to D2 CAA took over a great team in UC Davis rode them to an Elite 8, trashed the team before moving on to Grand Canyon (same conference) and now riding on another great coach’s coattails. All I’m witnessing is a cherry picker hopping teams and leavin the team in a worst position than when he started.

The thing with ab is he likes to win. I mean, we all do but he is usually looking for the situation that gives him the best chance to win a championship. He doesn’t really have any loyalty to fake schools in a fake world.

He is a really good coach and good recruiter. If he stayed at Davis he would built them up, but since Grand Canyon gives him a better opportunity to win faster, he moved.
