I am starting to get a complex with all this anti Russian rhetoric. :)

mccain actually gave it to the fbi......they then called spoke to steele...they know him very very well...he is so highly and eminently regarded by the fbi that he has given seminars to fbi agents.

McCain forwarded the dossier to the FBI in January 2017. They had already been given a copy from Steele.

Here's some background on the handoff...

I understand Steele's reputation. But inaccuracies have been found, and he may have given false information to the bureau. Grassley's recommendation to DOJ to investigate might be a big deal for Steele.

The bigger deal is what went on behind the scenes, not the dossier itself.

crazy is a Left fan it seems. Doc is on the right. I am a moderate.
No, I'M a moderate. You're far right. Doc is far far right. dino and italyprof are left.

Reminds me of the old George Carlin gag about driving on the freeway. The guy who drives faster than you is a maniac; the guy who drives slower is an idiot. You -- and only you -- are driving at the correct speed!

who paid for the dossier is so irrelevant.....it was always opposition research...first by the republicans and then the democrats.......steele notified the fbi when he saw evidence of a crime......he then gave it to mccain who gave it the fbi........who paid for it means nothing.
Well, the point is somebody paid for the damn thing. Therefore, Trump is INNOCENT. Ipso facto and bovem de stercore.

That you THINK you are a moderate says volumes. Anyone who remained a loyal Democrat after 2009 is not likely a moderate. I reference their abortion stance, favoring sanctuary cities, and their stance on big government in general. ..does it even faze you that we are 20 Trillion in debt? That half of that is from 2009-2016?

The right has moved left since Reagan. Many are pro marijuana, pro gay rights. Items that were out of reach for the left 30 years ago.

I am a conservative fiscally, and regarding rule of law. Punch lines to Democrats. When Clinton was in office, even Dems ignored a Bernie Sanders. They deemed him extreme. Socialist type thinking was not mainstream. Since then, Blue Dog Democrats have disappeared. This is not Kennedy's party. Even little brother Teddy would not hear of his party infringing on free speech. This is not tolerance. It is suffocate the opposition. Use RICO to jail those who oppose our climate change narrative. Eric Holder and Barack Obama chose which laws to enforce. They fired IG's then did as they saw fit with oversight eliminated...

I don't think I'm a "moderate." I was kidding with that post. I think the term is meaningless, as evidenced by the fact that cccp1014 calls himself a moderate. But I think there's some truth to what I wrote about Carlin's joke. Each of us thinks our politics is the correct politics. Very few people self-identify as "radical left" or "extreme right." Most of us just consider ourselves sane. Some of us even consider ourselves stable geniuses.

And I'm not a "loyal Democrat," either. I'm not a loyal anything. I'm a Canadian who very strongly dislikes the Clintons, and was overall disappointed by Obama. (I do like Bernie, I'll cop to that.)

We've gone over the one seeming inaccuracy...one that hasn't been proven one way or another. With the amount of lies that the Trump camp has told about Russia...I mean seriously, how many now?.....why would you believe Cohen when he said he didn't go to Prague? The timeline could have been slightly off but right now that dossier is sitting at about 80 percent accurate.

What do you think about Sessions committing perjury?
1/8/2018 11:33 PM
Many states have pot laws that are in direct conflict with federal law. Sessions as AG has no choice but to enforce federal law. It is his job, until federal law is changed. Many disagree, but he is sworn to uphold the law. Better that than have an AG, the top law enforcement official, ignoring the law. Write Congress, get them to change the law...

What did Steele get out of making stuff up? You are talking about a highly respected intelligence officer.

Sessions the Senator had every right to have dialogue with Russian liaisons. Sessions as part of the transition team was allowed to have discussions with diplomats.

An article from Slate, says he probably didn't commit perjury. ..http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2017/03/did_jeff_sessions_commit_perjury_probably_not.html
