It has to do with a lot. The policies that b_l is advocating for has created an "I can't win" mentality within certain cultures. These policies were created by hippy liberals. The liberals at the top weren't doing it to better society. They were doing it to win votes. They have to have a lower class to stay in power.

You have said it yourself. It's a survival mode mentality. It's not a prospering mentality. My late father-in-law struggled with this. So yes, it's an "I can't win" mentality.

Also, I think we are already seeing a natural progression without government interference. I am a libertarian when it comes to this. I think if restaurants don't want to serve certain patrons for whatever reason, they should have that right. At the same time, if you want to be a discriminatory piece of crap, I have the right not to give you my money. If we let capitalism work, the problem would fix itself. I believe the problem, for the most part, has already taken care of itself.

I don't think the problem will fix itself in the near future. Capitalism only works in this way when it is transparant (like in the NBA)

The debate is about overcoming adversity. You can't isolate that strictly to the US and completely ignore the thousands of years that Jews were persecuted. It proves that they have overcome way more than blacks. I'm not demeaning what slaves had to endure or what the blacks went through up until 60's, but if they keep looking back they will never move forward.

IMO the thought process started during slavery and was prevalent through the 60's while still having effects today. Read Coming of Age in Mississippi. It cannot be Dem's fault.
