No no get out. I have given you multiple examples of companies who will hire HS graduates and they can make around $75k/year here in MA. Think about it. If you graduate HS, don't have a kid and are open to employment the world is your oyster. I just met with a client today who said they cannot find laborers anywhere. Paying $20/hour. Not a bad starting gig.
We don't have that in KS. Most jobs are bad and/or low paying.
You don't have companies that require truck drivers in KS? You don't have Home Depot? You don't have companies that manufacture for the military? You don't have universities who need custodial engineers?

Maybe those people should move?

Tangy has yet to give me one iota of proof of institutional racism today. Just zip code racism. LOL

Tangy be struggling. Tangy be bad at this. Poor Tangy. :(

Redlining.
Nope. Thats zip code based. Try again.
It's race based. The goal of it is to keep black people out, the creator was a blatant racist. He literally said so. You will not win this argument.
Who has a better chance of buying a house:

#1) African American family making $300k per year

#2) Some single white parent from Maine who makes $30k per year?

NOT RACE BASED. ZIP CODE BASED!
Thanks for making a hypothetical argument that has very little basis in the real world.

One of my best friends is EXAMPLE #1 he lives in a town adjacent to mine. Very wealthy. Mostly Jewish btw...
One of my wife's friends is EXAMPLE #2. She is a mess.

Nothing to do with race. Everything to do with circumstance. You are a hick from KS who does not know the real world. But you do amuse me.

Thanks

I just said to follow the three steps. Not all bad basketball teams are lazy they just have poor coaching. I lost five games in nine years.

You are the one who is labeling and stereotyping. I have DONE zero of that. People like you make it worse for them not better.

#1) African American
#2) Lazy
#3) Victim

Just coach them correctly when they are young and they will excel.

*sigh* Did you know that *GASP* racism isn't always that discrete? A better example would be two 50k or whatever families, one white, one black. White family gets this.

People have followed your steps and failed to get out of poverty.

Also, OK mr Jews are better than everyone else.

I said that to counter your argument that African Americans are worse. They are not. They have bad coaching. I coached young kids when I was in college. Some still keep in touch. Didn't have father figures and were punks until they played for me. I gave them some harsh truth. Hey, I get discrimination. I have faced it my whole life due to (1) my ethnic name; (2) being a Jew. I will stand side by side with you to fight poverty and to fight racism. But I will not allow for excuses. Racists and bigots will always be there and the key is to get around them and still become a success. Not to use them as a crutch.

Jews have learned to persevere despite the hurdles they face. African Americans can as well and are doing so actually. Believe me. There is no one on these boards who despises racists more than me. But people like bad_luck, are ignorant and claim that people like Ben Shapiro are white supremacists. That is a non starter for me. I dismiss everything he says after that ignorant comment.

I appreciate your passion and your good will and intentions. I just think your strategy is way off!

Yes, I 100% agree that people need coaching. I also believe that everyone has some semblance of opportunity. But I also care about EQUAL opportunity.
1/16/2018 5:12 PM
No one will ever get equal opportunity. Just not how the world works. Nepotism is alive and well. But I agree that people should at least get opportunities and not be left out in the cold. Plus equality is subjective. There are some jobs I will never get an interview for because I don't have the pedigree. But I can find others. Keep up the good work and don't rely on the useless Government. I encourage you to work with local businesses and truck driving schools. Trucks still account for about 80% of goods deliveries in the US. The jobs pay great! Excellent benefits too.

Tang, you really need to learn what opportunity is. That student who dropped out to support his family made a choice. He had the opportunity to get a diploma and go to college. He made a choice not to. Please learn that everything that happens in life is a product of a choice. It will really make you a more effective person.
Fine. I concede. Most everyone has opportunity. You agree that equal opportunity does not exist?
No, I don't agree with that. Name one opportunity that whites have, that minorities don't. You and B_L have yet to name one.
LOL, pull your head out of the sand. Just because it "seems" like people have equal opportunities, doesn't in fact mean they do.

When the across the street neighbors from my grandparents were selling their house back in the late 70's, they showed it to a black family. Right after they showed it to the family, Mr. Parker rolled around to the neighbors telling them not to worry, there's no way he would sell it to the negros. In a perfect world, yes everyone as the same opportunities, but this is the real world, not the perfect world.
We don't live in the 70's. That was almost 50 years ago. That's the problem we're running into. The left keeps using arguments from the 60's and 70's. Times have changed. Are minorities still effected by those decades? Only if they allow themselves to be effected. The opportunities are more than there to live a productive, fruitful life.

Taint, B_L, and Tang have yet to name opportunity that whites have that minorities don't.
so it's your take that situations like this still don't occur in this day and age? cmon man, you're smarter than that.
I never said that they don't exist. I signed a pitcher out of a JuCo in Alabama. He said that in that town, there were like 3% blacks because the old timers there refused to sell property to blacks. This doesn't mean that there are plenty of prosperous areas they could move to and live peacefully and prosperously. Honestly, why would they want to move to a place like that.
