Yep, and I'm a country boy from GA. B_L has certainly tried to turn that on me a time or to. Although, I'm not sure anyone from California should be making fun of anybody else's state.

Lets compare:
They have a coast. We have a coast.
His state is poor, so is mine.
His State contributes significant amounts of welfare, so does mine.
His state has a movie industry, which guess what, is rapidly moving to my state.
My state can balance a budget, his can't.
His state has arguably the best secondary education in the country. Outside of Emory and GA Tech, ours sucks.
We whip his *** in sports.
Sounds pretty even to me.

Nice try again. I don't mean those that are falling on hard times necessarily. I mean don't have kids if you cannot afford them and definitely do not be a single parent. I would allocate billions into that message throughout the country. Many of the homeless refuse to go to shelters. Unfortunately they are not mentally all there. The key is to send this message from the beginning.

#1) Graduate HS
#2) DO NOT BECOME A SINGLE PARENT
#3) Get a job

We need to broadcast these messages all the time. Kids are pricey. Not having a HS education and trying to raise one is almost impossible so now you rely on the Gov't. Break the cycle. I don't understand why that is so difficult?

I want to play with MA
  • We have a coast
  • We are not poor
  • IDK about welfare
  • We have the best sports teams in the country
  • Our budget is fine.
  • We have the best 2ndary education and it is not close.
  • Our weather is terrible

It's not the governments responsibility to shield or lessen consequences. I despise it when they do it for corporations and it shouldn't be done for individuals. My wife's parents were poor as dirt. They could not "afford" to have kids. My wife's father worked 3 jobs. He never took a dime of assistance. That is how it's supposed to work. He took responsibility. You don't seem to believe in responsibility. It's quite a shame

Y'all have the best pro teams. Hockey excluded, bring UMass, BC, or any other school down here and let's go.

Also, if I remember last years super bowl correctly, we beat y'all by like 21.

My parents came here with $100 and didn't speak the language. When I was little we had to walk around on trash day to find furniture and TVs.

Not all coasts are created equally. California is a destination. Georgia is a layover to get somewhere else.

True dat. I don't think I've ever vacationed on the beach in GA. I will either go to SC or FL.

The best history in my opinion also. California is way better, but Massachusetts is cool.

Cali has nicer weather. We have the better sports teams!

I like warm weather.

Bob, my wife wanted 4 kids. We settled on two because of the cost. Common sense man! Common sense!

I want a Ferrari but I cannot afford it. Want and need are different things and adults should be held responsible. Tangy believes that people who can't afford kids should still have them and that the Gov't should support them. Sadly.
Obviously common sense laws. My point was that if we live in a system where some people financially cannot afford to have 2 kids, that system needs to change.
Why?
Because I firmly believe that a human right exists to have babies.
Sure, humans have that right. Humans should also have the right to live wherever they want, but if you can't afford to live in Hawaii, don't ******* move there.
I don't consider having a baby to be a luxury, thus I think that to be false equivalency.
I appreciate that is your opinion. My opinion is, if you can't afford to support a child, don't have one.
I agree with that but it's not really helpful. A lot of people have kids by accident. A lot of people have kids and can afford them and then something changes--someone loses a job, gets sick, gets divorced, house burns down, etc.
So, what you're saying is that life might be going fine and things are peachy.,...

Until Bad_Luck comes around....
