There are facts and there are opinions. While opinions can't be wrong because they aren't facts, they certainly can be uninformed and misguided and not all opinions deserve an audience.

For instance, you could say, in your opinion, investing your entire retirement portfolio in bitcoin today is a good idea. While no one can actually say, "that's factually incorrect," it's still terrible advice that will probably lead to ruin. You're revealing yourself to be either not very smart or misinformed about bitcoin/investing/etc, or both.

Another example:

It's a fact that Catfish Hunter allowed earned runs at a rate very close to league average over the course of his career. It's an opinion that he shouldn't be in the hall of fame because of that fact.

I had the opinion once that I was a great halfback. Then I get tackled real hard by a bigger guy. My opinion of my abilities as a halfback was wrong.
I can not understand why anyone would just naturally think that all his opinions were correct.
That's Trump.

Sam Brownback once was of the opinion massive tax cuts were awesome for Kansas.....he was wrong.

Um ok. I’m just pointing out that the point of a university is to educate people. Not provide job training. And fwiw, history majors can get good jobs. My sister was a history major and she makes more money than most people.
Thats fine and our opinions differ. I believe universities need to teach a marketable skill. I never said you were wrong. Opinions cannot be wrong.
Boris. You're getting dumber and dumber........... didn't we cover this before???

OPINIONS can most definitely be WRONG!! People have incorrect opinions every freaking day!!
Because people are human. We are sometimes WRONG! That means sometimes are opinions are exactly WRONG!!!!

Like all those humans that firmly believed (for scores and scores of years they all shared the OPINION) that the Earth was flat!!!
They were wrong!!!

What part of that do you not comprehende??
It is rather simple.
Not what I'd call a complex issue.
You that daft?
That sure would explain why you're still aboard that sinking ship of fools! LOL

There's been a pick or two!
Saying the earth is flat is NOT an opinion. It is a delusion. It is a proven fact that the earth is round. It is a proven fact that dogs (most of them at least) have four legs. If I state that I believe most dogs have 3 legs, that is not a wrong opinion. That is just me being crazy. Opinions can not be wrong.
Just opining here, but the earth being flat used to be a common opinion. That opinion was wrong, but at the time it was not 'crazy' per say. What is your idea of what is a delusion and what is not?

I am not trying to take sides on this BTW.
;
The key words there are "at the time". At the time the earth being flat was a common opinion, it had not been proven that the earth was not flat. If you had that opinion back then, it was an opinion, that was eventually disproven. If you believe that now, you're an idiot. Same with Laramie believing he was good halfback until he was tackled by a bigger guy. When he originally had the opinion it had not been disproven. After getting tackled by bigger guy(s) if he continued to believe that, he's just delusional.

terrible advice that will probably lead to ruin doesn't make it wrong. It's still an opinion until you can prove it is wrong. To do that you'd have o invest your entire retirement portfolio in bitcoin.

It truly is sad that you are so consumed by Trump that you can't make even 1 single post without mentioning or alluding to him, even when he's not remotely involved in the discussion. I can't begin to imagine how that isolates you from everyone around you.
You claim you can't understand why anyone would think all their opinions are correct, yet that's exactly what you, dino, b_l, cccp, me, and every other person does think. WTH would anyone hold-on to opinions they think are wrong?
I don't think my opinion about poor people having babies is correct.

I agree with both points.

I am 5'10 is a fact. I believe that 5'10 is short is an opinion.

Then you didn't take Advanced Chemistry or Advanced Physics.

So you have no idea what balancing equations is?

Do you think chemists created all these medications we have from memorization or thinking and experimenting? LOL

People who choose to take advanced chem still can. My only point is that it should not be required.

And we learn algebra in middle school, idiot
That is not Algebra. Try again. That is advanced finance. You need to know Beta, standard deviation (stats), etc. That is AP Mathematics.

Who is the idiot now? LOL

Thanks for exposing yourself yet again.
I think a finance class should be required.
Please stop posting. You have completely embarrassed yourself again. You cannot learn this unless you take Calculus first.

LOL

I think you are a troll, Tangy. We are done conversing.
The finance class would obviously teach the calculus needed.
It is a prerequisite. No it will not.

"Great" is subjective. A FACT is a statement that can be PROVEN true or false. Just because you were tackled once does not mean you were not a good player btw. An OPINION is an expression of someone's feelings that CANNOT BE PROVEN.

It could have been that the bigger guy was a better player but that doesn't mean you were not a good running back.

I am 5'10 = FACT. I can be measured to prove this and no one can dispute this.

I am ugly is an opinion. No one can prove that I am ugly. It is subjective.

Instead of always writing your long posts, why don't you read some other ones Bob?
