1. It is more than one person defending him and
2. The context of the comic strip was that it was making fun of Trump and people who support him. It was not an attack on YOU as a person.

I am supposedly allowed to my point of view, yet whenever ANYONE disagrees with you, you shame and insult them to your hearts content.

If you hold opinions that can be made to look shameful (and make you feel "shame") by a simple "cartoon strip".....I'm not sure you have any credence blaming the cartoonist?

No but it surmises that all who voted for him are dumb hicks. This is why the Dem party is falling apart. No respect for the opposing point of view and I am not even a Republican. This is partly why all the polls or most showed HRC winning and we all know what happened in the end. Silent majority.

People assume if you voted for DJT you are either a racist, uninformed or a moron or all 3. It could never be that you just agree with his policies more than his opponent. The Left immediately calls you a villain. I find that abhorrent. I find you abhorrent actually.

Well said Bob. The fact that CCCP took the strip as an attack on him as a person is telling as to CCCPs character.

Not shameful. I feel that the cartoonist is an A Hole. If the same strip was done about BHO that cartoonist would be labeled a bigot or worse.

If the same strip was done about BHO then everyone would be confused because BHO didn't say stupid **** like Trump does.

OMG --- you are so dumb. He has said other stupid sh*t. You really think BHO was perfect?

Only person saying stupid sh*t is you. LOL. You are a joke.

There ya go CCCP - proving my point exactly.

Anyway, name a stupid thing BHO said and I can counter with 20 that Trump has said. Go ahead. You won't win.

For a stable genius, Trump is really all over the map. Even Graham says it all depends on who he spoke to last, basically who flattered him last. Schumer had it right when he said it was like negotiating with jello.

A President Not Sure of What He Wants Complicates the Shutdown Impasse

Both sides have reason to be confused. Each time Mr. Trump has edged toward compromise with Democrats, he has appeared to be reined in by his own staff, which shares the hawkish immigration stance that fueled his campaign. And Republican leaders, bruised by past experience with a president who has rarely offered them consistent cover on a politically challenging issue, are loath to guess at his intentions.

The result has been a paralysis not only at the White House but on Capitol Hill, complicating the chances for an ultimate resolution of how to protect hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants, the problem underlying the shutdown. And it has raised questions not only about Mr. Trump’s grasp of the issue that animated his campaign and energizes his core supporters, but his leadership.

“There’s a real sense that there’s a disconnect between the president and his staff on immigration issues, and people on all sides are seeking to exploit that disconnect,” said Alex Conant, a Republican strategist who advised Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, one of Mr. Trump’s rivals, in his 2016 bid for the White House. “This is what happens when you have a president who is not clear and consistent on what he will accept: It emboldens all parties to take positions that they won’t compromise.”

I'll kick off the movie lists with the 1930s. We can go decade-by-decade for a while until we come to a year that's solid enough to warrant its own Top 10 (maybe sometime in the 1960s? or sooner? we'll see).

1930s

1. Wizard of Oz

Loved it (and was terrified of it) as a kid. As an adult I'm most impressed by the physicality of the characters, especially the elastic Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) and the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr). Lahr's son John is a fine writer who wrote a good biography of his father titled Notes on a Cowardly Lion.

2. Night at the Opera

Otis B. Driftwood: It's all right, that's in every contract. That's what they call a sanity clause.

Fiorello: You can't fool me! There ain't no Sanity Claus!

3. It Happened One Night (Frank Capra's screwball romantic comedy starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert)

4. My Man Godfrey (Another great screwball comedy, this one starring William Powell and Carole Lombard)

5. I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (Good, gritty drama from 1932)

6. Modern Times (Chaplin still going silent in 1936, his best film IMO)

7. King Kong (Great special effects for the time)

8. Angels with Dirty Faces (Cagney as gangster Rocky Sullivan)

9. The Public Enemy (Cagney in another gangster pic)

10. The Lady Vanishes (Good early Hitchcock mystery thriller)

Subjective. Pretty sure Trump knows how many states are in the US.
