anybody ever watch tv shows in the 1950s...any black people - no
1960s - one show and no one in any others
1970s - sanford and son and the jeffersons....a few others ......no characters in other shows to speak of..except allin the family
1980s - just a few shows...very few...only cosby was high quality
how many black actors 1950-1979 in movies.....a few
1980 - 1999 - a handful of go to people

today ...today - watch commercials....many many mixed couples and even realistic families of white parents with black kids.
television and movies did not even come close to reality until mid 90s and only in the last 2 years have we finally reached actual reality and aspirational ideals......hallelujah.

I like the yin and yang thing Bonds and Clemens have going on. Black, white; batter, pitcher; National League, (mostly) American League. Minus the steroids, each would be ranked near (arguably at) the top all-time at his position.

Instead, they're forever linked not only as steroid cheaters being blocked from entering the HoF, but as jerks who loudly denied they were using when they could have mitigated the damage with a sincere apology and some contriteness (see Andy Pettitte).

Like Pete Rose, they'll probably only get into the HoF after they shuffle off this mortal coil.

Somewhere out there is an alternate universe where Bonds and Clemens never used steroids. In that universe they are Hall of Famers and counted amongst the all-time greats (even if people still think they were jerks), and as a baseball fan that's kind of sad. They didn't need steroids to be remembered, and now they'll be remembered mostly for steroids.

They should be in the hall. Its the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Great Character. Many players from the 60s and 70s (and later) who are in the Hall used greenies, which are performance enhancing drugs. Why should those PEDs be okay, but steroids are not? I also think its hypocritical of players like Morgan and Aaron to say the steroid users shouldn't be in, when I have very little doubt they used greenies during their playing days. Just m opinion of course. the other point is Bonds and Clemens were great players before they used steroids anyhow. Yes, they were (are) both ********, but when I paid money to go to a baseball game, I didn't pay to see nice guys, I paid to see good baseball players.
