Things are perking up for Starbucks baristas. The more than 150,000 hourly wage workers (a.k.a. “partners”) who clock in 20 hours a week or more are getting more than $250 million in new employee benefits, including a pay increase, stock grants and paid sick leave, the Seattle coffee chain announced Wednesday.

Walt Disney Co. said it will give employees a one-time cash bonus of $1,000, joining a growing list of companies handing out awards in the wake of federal tax reform.

About 125,000 U.S. employees will be eligible, the company said Tuesday in a statement, putting the cost at $125 million. Disney also plans to put $50 million into a fund to help hourly employees with tuition costs and plans to provide as much as $25 million annually for that purpose afterward.

FedEx announced wage increases, employee bonuses and pension funding on Friday, citing the new Republican-backed tax-reform plan.

The company announced that two-thirds of $200 million in increased compensation will go to hourly employees, while the remainder will be put toward performance-based incentive plans for salaried employees.

FedEx also said $1.5 billion will be put toward the company's pension plan and another $1.5 billion would go toward expanding the company's hub in Indianapolis

The leading Democrats are ********. They are calling it crumbs. Like $1,000 0r $2,500 is nothing. A one time crumb that will run out. It would be better if these people never saw that money I suppose. I mean, that's what the VERY RICH DEMOCRATS think anyways.

To therm, $1,000 is just a tab for a couple of friends who showed up at a party for a night out. Nancy Pelosi who made sure minimum wage went up for everybody except the workers at her factory in American Samoa. And to her and her liberal millionaire friends $2,500 is ****. And John Kerry marries a dead Republicans wife who buys him a 7.5 M dollar yacht to sooth him because he got his *** kicked in the election, but instead of paying the $70,000 excise tax to the workers in the port town of his very own democratic state, he registers it in Rhode Island instead because he doesn't want to dip into his over 1 BILLION DOLLARS he married into. AND WHY NOT just spread that $70,000 out over millions of poor working people who he never intended to give a tax break.

I'm still looking for the Democrat tax reduction plan. It doesn't exist. The Dem plan says $1,000 is crumbs to you, and by the way, we now want to tax you an additional $1,000 plus more taxes and regulations on other stuff because we need more money to give away to people who are not legally allowed to vote for us but...OPPS! Never mind about that for now.

I guess the Dems just forgot to mention all the extra money you will see in each and every paycheck. I think they just forgot. It could happen. You could forget something like that. I guess the Democrat leadership is just forgetful.
