If you answer yes, then they face institutional racism. If you answer no, then why does the 70-40 split occur?
What 70-40 split are you referring to? Is the NBA racist? Y or N?
If N then why is it 75% black?
Single parent rates. 70% for black people and 30% white people.
N.
There are a couple of cultural practices. One is that basketball is typically a cheaper sport to get into and you really don't have to compete privately to get really good at a young age. Sports like baseball, soccer, football, etc. are slightly harder to get into in the USA. The NBA was one of the first leagues to fully accept black people in their league. So young people see their heroes growing up playing basketball and they want to do it too. Those are a couple reasons right there.
40% for white people. Because culturally it is deemed as OK. Not so in other cultures such as Jewish and Asian American.
- Soccer is just as cheap to play. Mostly white people play it.
- NFL is 68% black. That is an expensive sport. So are the NFL owners also prejudice? Do tell.
- Baseball started accepting black people in 1947. Well before people even knew what the NBA was. Your narrative is false, sports journalist. And they had ridiculous stars like Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Maury Wills, to name a few. Baseball is 70% white. Are the owners racist?
There is no prejudice anywhere here. Each person should be looked upon as an individual. That is the correct rhetoric. Yours is dangerous and annoying.
Mb. So black culture is inferior?
1. Soccer is pretty unpopular in the USA, and in the USA it is just as expensive as baseball. People don't go out and play soccer with their friends. They do with basketball.
2. This also links with the 'accepting black players' stuff. Football is very popular. Lots of rich families don't let their sons play it.
3. Yeah, but they didn't 'accept' them. They were not 'accepted' until the late 60's. And baseball is not 70% white. Far more latinos play it. Your narrative is false. Also baseball, sadly, isn't played as much anymore. Not many go out to the sandlot and play anymore. Again, if it needs to be organized, more white people will play it.
Correct. Unfortunately, right now, everyone is not looked upon as an individual. We must acknowledge that.
