Why are SIM A1 D- prestige conference teams are in the same boat with SIM A1 Big 6 conference teams. System is messed up. Big 6 SIM A1 teams target players they have no chance of getting, therefore end up with crappy players that are left over, where as, the lower prestige teams are most likely to end up with a better overall team, because nobody wants to recruit those types of players, even though they are better than the leftover players that the Big 6 SIM A1 teams get.

We have 4 SIM A1 teams in the Big12, RPI of 201, 222 and 248. The other SIM A1 team is decent, but only because there was a human coach to recruit 2 of the past 4 seasons.

Yup.

"Working as intended"

The SIM schools are all recruiting based on their baseline...regardless of what their current working prestige is. The system is working as intended. It's a stupid system but it is functioning properly.

Hmm this is an interesting way to put it.

Well my car can only drive in reverse but that's how they designed it so it appears to be working correctly!

I don't even know you can say it's "working as intended", because BETA testing didn't go long enough to figure out there was something wrong. I guess you can say "working as initially intended", but clearly it's screwed up.

It's not just playing weaker teams to wreck havoc on your RPI, but the conference strength preference that gets impacted as well.

Understand the complaints but personally when I take over for a sim coached team at a Big 6 school I would rather they "reach" for the better players for the previous 3-4 seasons. That way if they got lucky just a couple times they have working players I can use.

Given a choice between two power conference teams:
Team 1
Stacked with mediocre players who would ride the bench for most human teams

Team 2
6 terrible players
3-4 mediocre players
2-3 at least starter quality for a sweet 16 team if not Studs.

I am taking team 2 as a starting point. My Louisville team was run by a human coach before me but it serves as an example. If McCord would have returned for his senior season as I expected then I would have McCord and Pace returning while adding Edwards as my stars. Might have made the tourney with that team. Losing every single dice roll with Louisville over three consecutive recruiting cycles does not help. Just one win in recruiting would have given me a fourth star then Louisville would have been an upset away from sweet 16 contention.

Only reason to consider Team 1 is if they are running the press and you want to run to continue running the press. That's why I took Manhattan.

Besides if you are moving to a Big 6 school you already know how to coach and recruit at D1 or were great at D2 for a long time. Rebuilding is not a problem with your HUGE ADVANTAGE in baseline prestige. You have an A+ Kansas team, you know what I mean wizard.

Quit making "the Sims I am beating don't help me enough" argument. You fought to keep the baseline prestige advantage for Big 6 schools then deal with the natural results. Those sims aren't going to be made better recruiters just so they can bother human coaches learning D1 that will eventually build powers that beat you. Your affinity for scheduling an all sim nonconference is killing you. Not your conference sims playing bad. Schedule an all human conference slate in Phalen. I see you have three on tap for next season (good job wizard) and 7 spots open for seven more humans. Who wants to offer to play wizard's Kansas team next season? He is looking for 7 more human coaches to fill out his non-conference slate.

Buck Up Buttercup. 10 humans in non-conference with a Big 12 slate is going to make your head spin with how much it can benefit you if you manage another 23+ win regular season. Good Luck!
