I’m so damn tired of the playoff upsets in this game. They’re WAY too common. I won 93 games and am on the verge of being swept out of the first round by a 78 win team I was 8-2 against this season. It’s beyond ridiculous how often this kind of thing happens.

Get real dude. If you’re that desperate for proof, you can find which of my teams has 93 wins and go look for yourself.

I'm not complaining about the idea of upsets. But their frequency in this game, in both HBD and SIM baseball is ridiculous. You can absolutely own a team in the regular season, finish 15+ games ahead of them in the standings, and come playoff time, your team has no answer for them. I can see that happening every now and then, but not at the rate it does in this game. It's ridiculous.

Wow, That's hurtful..wasn't asking for proof, just looking to educate myself. Thanks though.

How exactly does having boxscores help educate you in this case? I'm down 0-2 to a team with 15 fewer wins than me that I owned in the regular season. The boxscores are insignificant.

Your game 1 Starter Frey has a very subpar playoff history, truth be told he is not a #1 playoff starter. It was fair to expect him to wet the bed....again.
Your opposing game 1 starter Flores has an inconsistent playoff record but he balances bad appearances with great ones. The great version of Flores showed up in game 1. Meanwhile Frey was busy hitting batters, throwing wild pitches, etc. He should not have made it through the 1st inning. Not that it would have mattered, he gave the game away early.

Your game 2 starter is 2 years removed from Prom, making his 1st Major League playoff start. https://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/Boxscore.aspx?gid=92788868&tab=box&mode=modern
He was relieved by a marginal reliever Ewing. The 2 combined to give up 14 hits and 10 earned runs in 4.1 IP.

Wow. Nice attitude.

Yeah, I hope you feel good about being a dick to new players. You're ****** off because your team isn't good enough and nobody is consoling you. Get over it. You're a grown *** man.

Ignore him, Goldie.

Solid analysis rookie. Did you glean all that from your first HBD season? Or are you an alias? Please don't waste time trying to assess things for other people when you have one season under your belt.

Frey faced KC twice in the regular season and won both games, giving up 2 runs in 13 IP. He was also a 17-game winner with a very respectable WHIP and ERA. Grey made 3 appearances against KC in the regular season, going 1-1 and giving up 4 runs in 13.2 IP. Both did just fine against this opponent in the regular season.

Unlike real life, computerized players don't deal with "playoff pressure".
